January 2022

 

1-Round Square Zoom Postcard By Sunbeam Lahartara:- Our students Prabir Sandhu, Anmol Surekha, Rayan Shrivastava, Srish Bansal and Mayank Sharma along with the RS rep. MS Varsha Ratta attended the Round Square Postcard hosted by Sunbeam ,Lahartara on the theme “Power of We” on 12th January 2022 it brought together 90 participants from 12 schools of India, UK and Pakistan.

 

2- RS Zoom Postcard from Mayo College :- Our students Kumar Prateek, Abhiraj Malik, Raghav Agarwal, Arth Chauhan, Durgesh Kumar, Ryan Srivastava, Ayush Jaiswal along with the RS Rep. MS Varsha Ratta attended the RS Zoom Postcard from Mayo College in India with the theme ‘Warp and Weft in Weaves’, focusing on Textile and Clothing of India and the World on 19th January 2022. It brought together around 100 participants from 19 schools in 5 countries (India, UK, Armenia, UAE and Pakistan).

 

3-Emerald Heights- KNOWLEDGE CONVERGENCE ARC:-

The studentsofBirla Public School, Pilani participated online in the Emerald Heights Knowledge Convergence Arc from 27th January- 29th January. The following boys have participated in the event along with the incharges:-

It was a three days event, students participated and learnt a lot in the event.

4- RS FRENCH LANGUAGE LAB FROM ÉCOLE ALSACIENNE IN PARIS:-

Our students Ansh Gupta, Kushagra Garg, Rishit Singhal and Trish Jain along with French teacher Mr. Raviraj participated in RS French Language Lab from École Alsacienne in Paris on the topic of Cultural Norma and Stereotypes. The call took place on 27 January at 8:30pm IST with 55 delegates from 11 schools in 6 countries (India, Bahamas, USA, Kenya, Colombia and UAE). The students shared their views by discussing on the topic. 

 

5-INTERNATIONAL YOUTH BOOK REVIEW COMPETITION:- Preet Rathi and Prabir Sandhu of class XI participated in the International Youth Book Review Competition organised by CIA First International School, Cambodia in association with The Achiever's Programme (TAP) on 27 December,2022. Preet Rathi's presentation was adjudged the best.

1-ENGLISH SPELL BEE COMPETITION:-

English Spell Bee Competition for the session 2021-22 was held from 25th November to 29th November 2021.

  • There were three rounds of the competition. First round was ‘Dictation’ open for all the students and Second round was Socrative quiz. And the final round was conducted on 29th & 30th November with the selected students class-wise.

2- RS ZOOM POSTCARD FROM HOLY INNOCENTS' EPISCOPAL SCHOOL IN USA ON "HOLIDAY TRADITIONS": -

Six students of our school participated in the RS Zoom Postcard from Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in USA on "Holiday Traditions"on Wednesday December 8th at 1pm EST (GMT-5) it brought together around 80 participants from 14 schools in 8 countries (India, Canada, Armenia, France, USA, Colombia, Kenya and Pakistan)

3-IVC VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM CONFIRMATION:-

Our two students participated in the Indus Valley Civilization Virtual Symposium hosted by your prestigious school and CHH Indus Civilization Society on December 8th, 2021. 12:00 - 2:00 pm PST and 12:30 to 2:30 pm IST.it brought together around 80 participants from 14 schools in 8 countries (India, Canada, Armenia, France, USA, Colombia, Kenya, and Pakistan.

4-INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP (2021 -22)

6-ENGLISH EXTEMPORE COMPETITION:-

English Extempore Competition for the session 2021-22 was conducted on 8th December, 2021. English teachers prepared the students for the same. The details of the competition are mentioned below:-

  • There were two rounds of the competition. All the students participated in first round of the competition class-wise. And it was conducted by the respective English Teachers. The first round was conducted by English teachers in their respective classes on 3rd December.
  • Selected students participated in final round in the Assembly Hall class wise on 7th and 8th December.
  • Students picked up the topic from the bowl 15 minutes before the schedule time to prepare in the final round .

8-TREK FROM PILANI TO CHANDGOTHI:-

30 students of class X went for a Trek of 27 kms. From Pilani to Chandgothi village forest range on 17.12.2021.Students wemade makeshift shelter from the natural resources available there.Mr. Siddarth,Mr. Shyam and Mr. Vijay escorted the students.

November 2021

1-BRICS ONLINE MATHEMATICS QUIZ COMPETITION:-

Junior section boys participated in “BRICS ONLINE MATHEMATICS QUIZ” conducted by BRICSMATH.COM during the month of November, 2021. It is an international event/ competition and recommended by CBSE. The partner organizations are NitiAyog, Atal innovation Mission and FICCI. Countries likeBrazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Indonesia (Guest Country) and Vietnam took part in the event.

2- INTER HOUSE BASKET BALL TOURNAMENT: Inter house Basketball tournament (Mid Sec) was played from 02/11/21 to 10/11/21. Total 8 matches were played (League cum Knockout) between all houses. Final match was played between Buddha House & Dayanand House Dayanand House won the match.

3- INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ : Inter House Science Quiz Group IX-X for Middle Section was conducted on 9th November at 4:00 pm. Guest of Honor was Headmaster Jr. Sec.. Buddha House ,Gurunanak House and Dayanand House secured the 1st ,2nd and 3rd position respectively.

4-CAREER COUNSELLING BY BRIDGE-U: BPS has taken Career Counselling in a very comprehensive manner. The school has collaborated with the Agency named “BRIDGE-U” based in London with Offices in Hongkong and Singapore. This is an online application where the students themselves can register and after login can search different career option across the world.

5- MATHEMATICS QUIZ 2021-22:-Mathematics quiz was conducted for classes V and VI by Mrs. Narottama Sharma TGT Mathematics on 13 November. All the students participated in the first round in which socrative quiz was conducted. 15 students were selected for the final round conducted on 13 November. The students enthusiastically participated in the quiz.

6- GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK 2021-22-Geography Awareness week was celebrated in the Birla Public School, Jr. Section from 15 November to 20 November 2019. Various activities were organized to develop the interest in Geography among the students.

*Geography Quiz was organized for all the houses (ShishuGriha, Bal, Kishor and Kumar House). Participants have shown great interest and enthusiasm in the quiz.

Kumar House,Bal House and ShishuGriha were adjudged the 1st ,2nd and 3rd respectively.

7-INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ – 2021 Inter House Science Quiz Competition was organised in Junior campus at Montessori Hall On 18th November 2021. 3 boys from Bal, Kumar, ShishuGriha and Kishore participated in the quiz.. Kumar house won the quiz.

8-NCC DAY CELEBRATION: NCC day was celebrated in BPS on 26th Nov. 2021. 138 cadets from all the NCC troops (Army, Navy & Air) participated. Principal BPS was the Chief Guest on opening ceremony. NCC cadets had participated in Swachhata Abhiyan and tree plantation in the school campus. Bursar, Academic Coordinator (Middle), ANO’s and many other staff members were also present on the occasion.

9-INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ FOR CLASS 10th: Inter House Mathematics Quiz (2021-22) for class X was held on 26th Nov. 2021in Vijay Hall Two boys from each house participated in the quiz.Buddha and Dayanand house won the 1st position, Mahavir and Gurunanak house won the 2nd position and Vivekanand house won the 3rd position.

10-INTER HOUSE SOLO PATRIOTIC SONG COMPETITION: Inter House solo patriotic song competition was held in Vijay Hall on Nov.16, 2021. Principal BPS was the chief guest on the occasion. Vivekanand house bagged the first position, Mahavir house house bagged the 2nd position and Dayanand house won the 3rd position from middle section and Kumar, Shishu and Bal house won the 1st and 2nd positions and Kishore house won the 3rd position in Junior Section.

11-SEMINAR ON SKILL EDUCATION: On Nov.18, 2021 Resource person from Jagan Raj Professional Studies Pvt. Ltd. Affiliated with “ National Skill Development Corporation (NSDL, Govt. of India ) conducted a seminar on Skill Development in Vijay Hall. Courses on AI Data Scientist (Artificial Intelligence & Big Data Analytics),Web developer (ApplicationDevelopment), Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking and Cloud Application Developer are being offered by the company.

12-UNESCO PROJECT ACTIVITY: The students ofBirla Public school, Pilani, participated in an international event organised by UNESCO and hosted by Paris on 12 Nov. 2021. The name of the event was “SoundProducesImage”. The students performed a myme for 1 minute 44 seconds exactly. The sound track for this activity was predefined by the organisers. The theme of the myme was women empowerment and the title of the story was given as “Reprisal”. The following students (Krishna Vijayvargiya, Daksh Jain, Janak Khandelwal, Akrit Agarwal, Nimit Choudhary, Krish Singhania, Shashwat Singh, Shloak Goyal, Abhinav Kinha, Tatwik Agrawal, Dushwant Choudhary) participated in the event and made it a success.

13- Shri SuryakiranPareekh Memorial virtual Hindi Debate and History Council virtual Hindi Debate Competition 2021:- Birla Public School, Pilani has participated in Shri SuryakiranPareekh Memorial virtual Hindi Debate and History Council virtual Hindi Debate Competition 2021 held on 12th and 13th of November'2021 conducted by Birla School Pilani, Rajasthan.

14-GUEST LECTURE BY Capt. Ayush Bhardwaj ALUMNI OF BPS: Today on Nov.27, 2021 he inspired our students of class-IX, X and XI through his memories in BPS. Our boys interacted with lot of interest and love.

ROUND SQUARE ACTIVITIES:

15- CHEMAGIX:-Birla Public School hosted a virtual Round Square collaboration connecting how Chemistry can be used to attain the UN SDGs. The conference had identified seven of the seventeen SDGs.The conference aimed at achieving awareness in seven of the seventeen UN SDGs. The conference was held from 08 Nov and 10 Nov 2021 with a gap on 09 Nov. Twelve Round Square schools participated in this conference. There were two Keynote speakers 1, Dr B Ebenezar, from Hyderabad and the other, Mr George Jacob, an Alumnus of BPS presently in Sanfrancisco, Whereas the first day the concept was introduced through different demo & discussions by the BPS boys with other school students, a Gap day of 09 Nov was meant for the participants on, to do the research and give the presentation on 10 Nov 2021.

16-ROUND SQUARE POSTCARD FROM WYOMING SEMINARY,PENNSYLVANIA:-our 9 students along with the RS Rep Varsha Ratta participated in the RS postcard on the theme "Sustainability a Global Perspective" on Friday, November 12th 2021.

17-ROUND SQUARE COLLABORATION WITH AKS LYTHUM SCHOOL, UK:-our 8 students along with the RS Rep. Varsha Ratta collaborated with AKS Lythum School, the UK on the theme " Is Democracy Representative?" on 15th November 2021.

18-HPS DRAMA FESTIVAL, 2021:-A Team of 6 students along with the Academic coordinator Jr. sec Ms Aditi Choudhary participated in the HPS Drama Festival, 2021 on 18th November 2021 and presented one act of the "Invisible Man" written by H. G. Wells.

October 2021

1- CBSE ‘ARYABHATTAGANIT CHALLENGE’:-

25 Students of Class – VIII participated in the “Aryabhatta Ganit Challenge” Quiz conducted by CBSE during the month of September,2021 and were awarded certificates by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

2- GUEST LECTURE BY DR. RAMESH PATHAK ALUMNI OF BPS:-

Dr. Ramesh Pathak an alumni of 1967 batch of BPS interacted with the students on 12th October 2021 and appraised the kids about the 21st century skills by relating it to hostel life in BPS. Dr Pathak has the distinction of setting up Business Schools in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh and serving as Director for over a decade. He has undertaken assignments as a visiting faculty with the University of Pune and at over 20 Business Schools in Mumbai, Pune, Thane and Nasik. Currently he runs Organization Research and Design, a Training and Consultancy outfit, offering advice in the areas of Strategy, People Development, Employability

3- VISIT TO ECO PARK -

58 students of class V to VII visited the Eco Park on on 14th Oct. 2021 and56 Students of class VII and VIII visited the Eco Park on 28th Oct. 2021 along with the teachers and identified the species of plants, fed the fish and made posters.

4- AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV-

As a part of Aazadi ka Amrit Mahotsav Digital collage, PPT, Paragraph writing making were conducted on 21st October 2021.

5- ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON MATHEMATICS:-

An Essay writing competition was organized for the students of class – VIII in the school on 23 October,2021. A total of 42 Students of class – VIII participated in the competition. Dev Soria, Yashvardhan Yadav and Vobhor Gupta bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

6- INTER-HOUSE ENGLISH DEBATES:-

Inter House English Debate for in the Cambridge format Students of grade VI-VIII was conducted in the School from 25th October to 29th October. Tanishk Agarwal, Yashvardhan Yadav and Bhavin Bhandari of grade 8 anchored the events Tanishk Agarwal, Harshit Bhutra, Prakhar Krishnatray bagged the 1st position. Abnav Prasad, Ranveer Singh, Jyotbir were the runner-up’s. Ranveer Singh, Jyotbir, Rudra Pratap Singh were adjudged Best Emerging Debater. Abnav Prasad, Jayesh Vaibhav, Shivansh Pratap and Harshit Bhutra were adjudged the Most Promising Speaker, Ranveer Singh was adjudged the Best Speaker, Arnav Kanwar & Prakhar Krishnatray were adjudged Best Rhetorician.

7-2ND INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ FOR CLASS 9th :-

2nd Inter House Mathematics Quiz for class IX was held on 27th Oct 2021 at Vijay Hall. Two boys from each house participated in the quiz. Vivekananda house, Buddha/Dayananda house and Mahavir/Gurunank house bagged the 1st,2nd and 3rd position respectively.

8-PANEL DISCUSSION ON CREATIVE WRITING:-

All English teachers along with Ms Shiwangi Sharma and Principal BPS participated in the Panel discussion on 13th October in BBVP. Director BET was the moderator of the session.

9- VISIT OF FRENCH INSTITUTE IN INDIA :- Three members of the French Institute of India interacted with the students of BPS on 19th October and appraised the students about the benefits of learning French.

10-INTER HOUSE SOCCER TOURNAMENT:

The Inter house soccer tournament was played from 02/10/21 to 07/10/21. Total 8 matches were played (League cum Knockout) between all houses. Final match was played between Mahaveer House & Dayanand House, Dayanand House won the tournament.

11-INTER HOUSE YOGA COMPETITION:

An Inter House Yoga Competition of Middle Section was held on 29.10.21. Twenty-five students participated in the Competition, Mahaveer House won the competition with 400 points. Master Pragya Prashant of Mahaveer House was adjudged the Best player.

ROUND SQUARE ACTIVITIES:-

12-NARRATIVE SUBMISSION FOR HOTCHKISS SCHOOL LAKEVILLE, CT:- Shaurya Yadav of class XII contributed his poem to the collection of Hotchkiss School Lakeville, CT.

13- THE SGCINKTOBER CHALLENGE:-Raghav Agarwal and Kanya Bengia of class XI and XII participated in the Inktober challenge organised by St George’s School, Windsor Castle UK. Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It was a one month long challenge with a list of task to be performed for the month of October.

14-DAIS RS POSTCARD ON THE THEME OF “COLOURS OF INDIA”:- 6 students of junior section participated in the Dihrubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai on 20th October. 175 students from 27 schools in five countries (India, Armenia, UAE, South Africa and Oman) joined the call. Participants were treated to colourful presentations from their peers before dividing into breakout discussions and then returning for a final plenary session.

15- RS ZOOM POSTCARD ST ANDREW’S SCHOOL FOR GIRLS:- 6 students of Senior section along with the RS Rep. Ms Varsha Ratta participated in RS Postcard on 20th October “Women in Sports” hosted by ST Andrews’ School, Johannesburg, South Africa, 95 students from 21 schools in eight countries (India, USA, Armenia, UAE, Colombia, Canada, Germany and South Africa) joined the call. After a warm welcome and introduction from the hosts, delegates heard from an excellent keynote speaker before heading off into Baraza groups for an in-depth discussion. Students then reconvened in the main room to share the highlights of their discussions before a thank you and send off from their host.

16- RS POSTCARD HOSTED ASSAM VALLEY SCHOOL:- 6 students of Senior section along with the RS Rep. Ms Varsha Ratta participated in RS Postcard hosted by Assam Valley School.The 90-minute call brought together over 100 participants from 19 schools in 7 countries (India, USA, Armenia, UAE, Oman, Peru and Argentina) and focussed on the power of positive thinking. Following a warm welcome from the host students, a keynote speaker discussed the importance of setting positive goals and gave tips on how to overcome fears. Students then dispersed to Barazas where brief ice breakers preceded a deep discussion of the issues raised in the keynote. Students then returned to the main room to discuss their learnings.

17- RS POSTCARD HOSTED GENESIS GLOBAL SCHOOL :- 6 students of Senior section along with the RS Rep. Ms Varsha Ratta participated in RS Postcard hosted by Genesis Global School, entitled “Dynamics of the World Economy 2021” on 7th October. Over 100 students from 20 schools in 5 countries (India, USA, Armenia, UAE and Japan) joined the call. Participants were treated to an excellent keynote before heading off to Barazas to discuss the topics raised and then returning for a final plenary session. A warm and welcoming atmosphere characterised the conversations.

18- THE SHRI RAM SCHOOL ARAVALI ECONOMICS SYMPOSIUM:- 8 students participated in The Shri Ram School Aravali Economics Symposium “Economics Without Ethics Is A Caricature ‘on 12th October.

19-WORLD MENTAL HEALTH COLLABORATION TO BE HOSTED BY THE DOON SCHOOL AND THE BRITISH OVERSEAS SCHOOL :- 6 students of senior section along with the RS Rep. Ms Varsha Ratta participated in the World Mental Health Collaboration hosted by The Doon School, and The British Overseas School, Pakistan over 225 delegates registering for the conference. This included delegations from 35 schools in 6 countries (India, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Oman, Jordan and Thailand).

20- PPS IPSC STUDENTS' CONCLAVE 2021 – 22:- 8 students along with Mr. Siddharth participated in a three days long IPSC Students' Conclave 2020 - 21 hosted by PPS Nabha from 24th to 26th October 2021. The them was leadership in sports.

September 2021

1. Inhouse Teachers’ Orientation Programs :-

a. Dr. Antara Baneerjee (faculty of Science ) held a webinar for the department of Science on 8th September 2021. The topic for the lecture was Engaging Students by Using Advanced Teaching Learning Methods. Use of technology to introduce humour in class, interesting video making techniques by the teacher, learning by doing (drawing) techniques, state of art editable PDF for better interaction and use of other various platforms to develop scientific temperament within the students were discussed with live examples.

b. Teachers of the junior and middle section held a presentation program on SAFAL as per the CBSE circular No. Acad-57/2021. Mrs . Aditi Choudhary , Mr.A.K.Das , Mr.Rahul Sharma, Mr.Piyush Kumar , Mrs.Shivangi Sharma Mr.P.K.Tanwar , and Mr A. K. Jangir presented the segments of the SAFAL document released by CBSE for evaluation in primary and middle years.

c. A training workshop on Effective use of MS Team was conducted online on MS team on Saturday dated 11/9/2021 in Birla Public School (junior section). Mr. Praveen Kumar Tanwar conducted the training session and all the staff members attended the training same.

2. English Story telling competition:- An online English story telling competition was held on Sept-2 -2021 in the evening for classes 5th to 8th. Priyansh, Aryaveer, Molik Sethi, and Bhavin Bhandari of class V,VI,VII and VIII bagged the I position, Krishiv Arora, Rudra Pratap Singh, and Harshit Suran of class VI,VII and VII bagged the II position and Kriday and Tejas, Kunal Singh and Arjit Sharma of class VI,VII and VII bagged the III position.

3. SPORTS -MATHS COMPETITION: - An online Sports- Maths competition was held in BPS Jr. Sec. All students from classes V, VI and VII participated in the preliminary round. The final round was conducted on 4th September on MS Teams. Students shared their views on importance of Mathematics in sports with the help of power-point presentations. Priyansh Jain, Ansh, Kriday and Rudra Pratap got I position, Prakhar, Rashtradeep, Saket and Agrim got II position, and Jinay and Daksh Kadian got the III position in different categories.

4. BOOK COVER DESIGN (LIBRARY ACTIVITY): A Book Design Activity for the students of class IX and X, organized by Mid. Sec. Library 10 Sept. INDERJEET AWANA (BH) got First Position. HARSEHEJ DHALIWAL (VH) and AARSH SINGHAL (VH) got II position,SHABAD BRAR (VH) secured III position in Class X category . ANIRUDHA SINGH (BH) got I Position. HARSHIL KHARADI (BH) got II position ADITYA KUMAR VERMA (DH) Secured III position in class X category.

5. VIDEO MAKING COMNPETITION (SCIENCE ACTIVITY): Video Making competition was held on 13thSept’2021 as scheduled in school calendar by Science Department. Theme of the competition was “use of scientific principles and its application in everyday life. There were 18 participants in three categories (6 to8, 9 &10 and 11&12). Vivan Kane, Molik Sethi and Viraj Jha of class VII got the I, II and III position respectively in category I. Bhavik Dabra, Aayush Rai and Manas Mayank of class X got the I, II and III position respectively in category II. Anmol Sureka (class XI) Chetan Dugar (class XII) Hrishikesh Rawat (class XI) got the I, II and III position respectively in category III.

6. Hindi Diwas Celebrations:- A cultural program was organized on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on 14th September 2021.Hindi poetry, story, puppetry, solo acting and quiz was held in Vijay Hall. The program was also telecasted virtually for the students and teachers.

7. Story Telling Competition: An Inter Class Story Telling Competition was conducted on Saturday, 18th of September. Students of Middle Section of Class IX participated in this event. Yashodipta Bhaumik (IX F) bagged the 1st position, Har Sahej (IX C) and Atulya Gupta (IX F) bagged the 2nd position and Kartikeya Shah (IX B) and Avichal Singh Rawat (IX B) bagged the 3rd position.

The British School ,New Delhi RS Post:- The British School RS Post on Sustainable Living and Waste as a Resources’ was held on 08 September 90 participants from 17 schools in 4 countries i.e. India, Australia, South Africa and Oman participated in the program. Along with the Round square representative and Principal BPS participated in the RSIC 2021 from 20th to 24th September 2021.700 schools from across the glob participated in the conference held on Gather platform which created a virtual 2D world and specific avatars of each delegate. RS Postcard hosts Sunbeam School Lahartara:-Mukund, Govind jaiswal,Shaurya Yadav and Harsh Tiwari along with adult delegate Mr. Pradeep Tiwari participated in RS post card organized by Sunbeam Lahartara Following a dramatic recital by two of the host students, and a keynote speech on resilience, students dispersed to Barazas for discussion on the topic of resilience, before returning to share their learnings and issue a concluding declaration. The 90-minute call brought together 96 participants from 22 schools in 4 countries (India, USA, Peru and South Africa).

ALL INDIA MATHS QUIZ: - Our School bagged III position in All India Mathematics Quiz organized by Shiv Nadar Foundation, Buland Shahar. The Quiz was conducted in two rounds. Prelims were conducted on 27 July 2021 and finals were held on 07 Aug.,2021.

2- INTRA CLASS YOGA COMPETITION: - Intra Class Yoga Competition of classes V to VIII was held on 07.08.21 as per the activity calendar. Priyansh Jain of class V, Kunwar Rastradeep and Manvay Dayma of class VI, Manvay Dayma and Yashraj Budhania of class VII and Ankit Kumar of class VIII bagged 1st position. Aditya Singh and Priyanshu of class VI, Vivek Raj of class VIII bagged the 2nd position and Kriday Agarwal of class VI and Aniket Singh of class VIII bagged 3rd position.

3- ONLINE MATHEMATICS QUIZ FOR CLASS IX: 1st Online Maths Quiz for the session 2021-22 was organized for class IX on 07 -8- 2021 at 12:00 hrs. Total 112 students appeared for the qualifying round held on 02-8-2021 from which Top 16 students were selected for the Final Quiz. Total six rounds were played by all the teams.

4- INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION:- 75th Independence Day was celebrated as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' at Birla Public School, Pilani. The principal of the school hoisted the flag on the occasion. The students of the school participated online and presented many programs. Teachers of the school also gave the message of patriotism through patriotic songs, street plays etc.

The school organized a cycle rally from Pilani to Loharu (50 KM) on 14th August, Principal Captain Alokesh Sen, Headmaster Mr. P.S. Rajpurohit and 25 teachers of the school participated in this rally. After reaching their destination, participants gave the message of patriotism through the collective national anthem.

5- SOCIAL SCIENCE POSTER MAKING COMPETITION: An online Poster Making Competition was held between 2nd August,21 to 8th August,21 which was open for all the students from classes VI to X. The number of students participated and submitted their entries in the classes VI-04, VII-06, VIII-07, IX-15 and X-04. Kriday Agarwal, Prakhar Krishnatreya and Agrim Munjal of class VI bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Yash Raj Budania ,Agrim Gupta and Vamashi Raghavof class VII bagged the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Bhavin Bhandari, Yashvardhan and Shivansh Pratap Singh of class VIII bagged the 1st,2nd and 3rd position respectively. 6-Social Science Collage Making Competition: A “Digital Collage Making Competition” was held between 22-7-21 to 28-7-21 which was open for all the students of class IX and X. The activity was proposed by Mr. Sachin Baijal with the coordination of all Social Science teachers. An online Digital Collage Presentation Program was held on 2nd August, 2021 in the evening on MS Teams App in which best selected Digital Collage were presented by the students. 8- Virtual Field Trip To An Online Museum: Department of Art organised a Virtual field trip to art museums for classes 9th -10th in middle section during the art classes on 26th of August, 2021.The students of 9th AB, 9th EF and 10th E have participated in this virtual field trip. They visited National Museum of Men and Tribal Museum. The Museum highlights the artistic traditions of India and tells the story of the evolution of the Indian civilization and about the verities of cultural life in contemporary India.

9- INTERCLASS CYBER WARRIOR COMPETITION (BLOGGING): On 28th August 2021An Interclass Cyber Warrior Competition on Blogging was held. In that competition 28 students (4 students from each Section of Class X) participated. Nihal Ranjan Nayak X-G from Mahavir house and Anirudh Singh X-G from Buddha House got First position, Aaditya Bhardwaj X-C from Dayanand house and Dev Verma X-C from Buddha House got second position and Devansh Goenka X-F from Gurunanak House and Marjit Das Gupta X-F from Budhha house got Third position. Mr. Sunil Kumar Sharma TGT Computer Science and Mr. Ajeet Singh TGT Computer Science from BPS Middle section was Judge for the competition.

10-TALK ON "VIJNANA BHARTI":- Mr. Manoranjan Kumar deliverd the talk on "VIJNANA BHARTI" on 25th August,2021. This is a non-profit organisation which works on promotion of scientific temperment among students and provides platform for innovation in science and technology.The speaker has spoken about the organisation, its vision and different activities conducted by it.This is directly supervised by Department of Science and Technology , Govt. of India at Central level and by the state govt. at state level.

11-INDIGENIUS (INDIAN SCIENTISTS ROLEPLAY ACTIVITY):- Department of Science organized an activity called INDIgenius-Indian Scientists roleplay competition on 28th August 2021 The main objective of this competition is to glorify the Indian scientists and their contribution towards Science & technology and inspire the students to choose their career in the field of research.A total of 35 students registered for this competition from classes V to XI . 16 students were selected for the final event. The shortlisting was done through a preliminary quiz (Visual) & video making .In the finals, the 16 participants represented 16 different Indian scientists and have presented the roleplay.

12-SCIENCE DEPARTMENT TEACHERS’ TALK -Mr. Rahul Sharma, TGT Science, delivered a lecture at 4:00 pm on PBL (Problem Based Learning) on online mode. Faculty members of Science Department attended this meeting. The talk was very informative and illustrious.

13-IPSC Virtual Literature Fest 2021-2022 hosted by Rajmata Krishna Kumari School, Jodhpur-Our school participated in IPSC Virtual Literature Fest 2021-2022 hosted by Rajmata Krishna Kumari School, Jodhpur.35 schools from all over India participated in 8 different events from 13th August to 15th August. The call took place on Wednesday August 25th at 11am. Over 70 participants from 12 schools in 3 countries (India, Oman and South Africa) came together and shared their views. The students shared their views by creating collage on the topic. The conference was meant to build participants’ understanding on wellness. The students explained their collage very well when they asked, and they really enjoyed it.

The result of class 12 was announced on 30th July 2021. The school average this year is 84.32 and average of Commerce, Science and Humanities is 83.43, 85.33 and 83.63 respectively.

Online Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition: Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was organized on July 24, 2021 .16 students of middle section participated in the program.,KRISH CHHOPOLIA, ATULYA GUPTA and ADITYA BHARDWAJ bagged the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd position respectively. The competition was organized in two rounds for Junior Sec. Thefirst round (Open Category) was held on Flip grid where students of the concerned class uploaded their video for the same. First round was held from 10th of July to 15th of July 2021. The second round was held on 24th July 2021 on MS Teams. The students were divided into twogroups.Nine students participatedin each group. RS Postcard- “When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Gets Going”: - Rudra Pratap Singh Arora,Viraj Jha, Mehul Jangid, Vivan Kane Pradhan,Daksh Kadian, Harshit Bhutra participated in RS Zoom Postcard from Sunbeam School Lahartara in India on “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” on Wednesday July 28. 120 participants from 19 schools in India and South Africa. 4.RS Zoom Postcard from St. John's Ravenscourt in Canada Postcard, “Be the Difference: Mental Health and Happiness”:-UttkarshSahu,Manav Rungta,Uttchrist Sinha along with the RS rep participated in RS postcard organised by St. John’s-Ravenscourt School in Canada. BPS won 2nd Prize for the Radio Play Poster.

4. Vivekanand House MUN 2021:-25 students of our school participated in the Vivekanand House MUN 2021 held from 21st May 2021 to 23rd May 2021.The organizing committee was headed by Prabir Sandhu. The topics discussed were the condition of women in different parts of the world and the effect of COVID -19 on the economy of countries around the world.

1. St Constantine’s International School RS Postcard-Our 6 students along with the RS rep, Varsha Ratta participated RS Postcard hosted at St Constantine’s International School on 5th May 2021. The topic was "Tourism in Tanzania" and participants heard from a representative of the Tanzanian National Park Authority, followed by baraza discussion. They also shared and discussed photographs of some of the most important attractions for tourism in their own countries. More than eighty Participants from 19 schools joined the call, dialling in from Canada, India, Kenya, Pakistan, U.A.E., Oman, Japan, the UK, Colombia, and the USA.

2. Service Action Symposium:- SAI International School and a growing number of RS schools in the South Asia and Gulf Region collaborated on the staging of a ‘Service in Action' Symposium on zoom on 6th May.Our 6 students along with the RS rep,Varsha Ratta attended the Service Action Symposium hosted by 10 schools of South Asian Gulf Region RS Schools,our students donated educational videos to BHENT an NGO established by our own student Shrestha Agarwal and presented it to 46 participating schools from around the world.

3. RS Collaboration "Metanoia" hosted by Dhiru Bhai Ambani International School:-Aditya Kumar Mishra, Vamshi Raghava, VeehanMoga, Khushraaj,PrerakPunia,Prince and Shaurya Sharma along with Dr Vijay Laxmi attended an RS Collaboration "Metanoia" hosted by Dhiru Bhai Ambani International School on 10th and 11th May 2021.24 schools of the South Asian Gulf Region participated in this collaboration. The activities included theatre, dance, art, music and Story Writing. It was a great learning experience for kids.

4. Round Square Virtual Conference by United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA), Singapore:-A delegation comprising 6 boys of Birla Public School ,Pilani Aditya Pratap Singh ,Shaurya Sharma ,Suraj Singh,Ranvijay VII Akhil Nahadia ,Aaradhya Mathur and Mrs. Neelam Mata attended the Round Square Virtual Conference (RSVC) organized by United World College of South East Asia (UWCSEA), Singapore on May 11,2021.225 participants from 31 reputed schools across the world participated in it. The theme of the conference was "The Future of our Cities" on which the student delegates had to prepare an Infographic as pre- conference task.

5. Gut Warnberg RS conference on “Cultures of Round Square”:-Our students Kriday Agrawal , Aryaveer Singh Bhati , Prakhar Krishnatray, Ivan Nyol from grade VI along with Ms.Narottama Sharma participated in this RS Conference.

The conference was held from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm on 20 May.The pre meet was on 17 May from 4 :00 to 4:45 pm.More than 135 people including teachers , students and hosts from 29 schools of Japan, Thailand, Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Oman, Argentina, Columbia, Kenya, Armenia, UK, UAE, India ,Germany and Romania joined online to explore the cultures of different parts of the world.Our students shared their ppt and exchanged ideas with each other.The three-hour conference included an opportunity to hear from a keynote speaker from the University of Munich before breaking into Baraza Groups for discussions and fun.

6. St Philip’s CollegeRS Postcard:- ArthChauhan ,JaishitChabbra ,Vasu Saxena,Uttchrist and Govind Jaiswal along with the RS rep ,Varsha Ratta participated in today’s RS Zoom Postcard,hosted by St. Philip's College, Australia on 26th May 2021 on the topic of ‘School Mottos, Culture and Community’. Participants sent in images of their school crests and mottos, which were shared during baraza breakouts. In each Baraza students from different schools spoke about their school’s motto, and this was followed by a wider discussion about what school mottos mean and how they filter into school culture and community. 125 participants from 25 schools joined the call from India, Australia, Ghana, Kenya, Japan, Singapore, Tanzania, and South Africa.

7. Round Square collaboration activity "Service Without Penny" organized by Genesis Global School,Delhi:-Manav Rungta,Bhavik Dabra,AaviSahi,Tatvik Agarwal,Vasu Saxena,Ayush Thakur and Aman Garg along with the RS rep participated in a Round Square collaboration activity "Service Without Penny" organized by Genesis Global School, Delhion 29th May 2021.25 schools from around the world participated in the collaboration.The event was very informative and the children could children share their ideas of service to the society and mankind.

8. South Asian Gulf Round Square Representative’s Meeting:-The Round Square Rep. attended the RS Rep.’s meeting held on 31st May 2021. The agenda of the meeting was the filling of RS affirmation form by the school, RS membership fee payment, Virtual Meeting etiquettes, RSIC 2021 participation and Hosting RS Collaborations and events by the member schools.

Career Counselling Session for Class X and class XI:-Career counselling sessions for class X and XI were conducted on general career awareness by Ms Priyanka Tomar and Ms. Varsha Ratta. Mr Bhadradut and Ms. Babita Sharma counselled the students about the career choices available after class XII in the field of Biology. Mr S.K Baral and the commerce department conducted a session on the career pathways available in the field of commerce in the 2nd week of April.

RS virtual Conference by Chadwick International School in South Korea:- 8 students of senior section along with the RS rep participated in the RS virtual Conference by Chadwick International School in South Korea based on the theme titled 'Sharing a Vision for Leadership' on on Thursday 08th April from 5:00-8:00 p.m. (Korean Standard Time KST, GMT+9).

3.RS Zoom Postcard By Colegio Los Nogales,Columbia:-Our 6 students participated and RS rep in the zoom postcard hosted by Colegio Los Nogales , Columbia on 14th April 2021 The topic for discussion will be “Debunking stereotypes. Schools from Vancouver, New York, Buenos Aires, 3 London, Cape Town ,Frankfurt, Nairobi, Yerevan , Muscat, India, Dhaka, Bangkok and Beijing participated in the event.

4.Thought Huddle by Sunbeam Varuna:- 7 students of middle section participated in Thought huddle hosted by Sunbeam on 16th and 17th of April '21. It was a mix bag activity which included Quiz, Creative writing, Radio Play, Turncoat debate, Extempore, and Visual Art Installation.

5.RS Zoom Postcard from St Mildred’s-Lightbourn School "Operation Restoration - Sustainable Leadership":- 7 students of senior section and the RS rep.participated in RS Zoom Postcard from St Mildred’s-Lightbourn School on Wednesday 21st April at 12 noon EDT (GMT-4) .It brought together 80 participants from 15 schools in Canada, the USA, Colombia, Peru, India, and South Africa.

6.RS Virtual Conference byThomas More College in Durban:-6 students of Middle section and the RS rep.participated in a virtual conference hosted by Thomas More College in Durban, South Africaheld on zoom on 21st April 2021. 7.The Power of ONE Summit by Sai International School and Dihru Bhai International School:-6 students of senior section and the RS rep. participated in the Power One Summit hosted by SIS and DIS on April 23 & 24, 2021. The theme of Day 1 was Coastal Impact and Day 2 was Sustainable Living.Venkatesh Charloo, founder of Coastal Impact with the intention of building awareness about marine ecosystems and motivating people to become divers and ‘ocean ambassadors’, as well as join in to save Goa’s precious marine life, was the keynote speaker for the event.

RS Zoom Postcard from Stiftung Louisenlund in Germany on ‘Antisemitism in Modern Germany’:- 4 students of senior section along with the Rs rep. participated in the RS Zoom Postcard from Stiftung Louisenlund in Germany on ‘Antisemitism in Modern Germany’ on Wednesday 28th April at 5pm in Frankfurt (GMT +2) and it brought together 110 students from 29 schools in 14 countries Germany, Switzerland, India, South Africa, Kenya, Colombia, the USA, Canada, Oman, Romania, the UK, Peru, Armenia, and Tanzania.

9.RS Virtual Conference “Let Your Inner Sun Shine” from Sunbeam School Lahartara in India:- 6 students of Middle section along with the housemaster of Dayanand house participated in the RS Virtual Conference “Let Your Inner Sun Shine” from Sunbeam School Lahartaraon 29th April from 5:30pm to 8:30pm IST.38 schools from India, Bangladesh ,Vancouver, New York, Buenos Aires, London, Frankfurt ,Johannesburg, Dubai, Bangkok, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney participated in the conference.

1. INTER HOUSE SOCIAL SCIENCE QUIZ:-Social Science Quiz was organised on 6 March 2021in Birla Public School, Jr.Section. There were 5 rounds in the quiz and Students of ShishuGriha, Bal House, Kishore House and Kumar House participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. ShishuGrihabagged the 1st Position and Kishore House, Bal Houseand Kumar house got second ,third and fourth position respectively.

1.AN RS POSTCARD FROM MLC SCHOOL SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA :-

Six students of senior section participated in the RS Postcard organized by MLC School Sydney, Australia on 10th March 2021. The theme of the postcard was Perspectives on Feminism. The conference brought together more than 100 students from 27 schools in Australia, Armenia, India, USA, Oman, South Africa, New Zealand, Tanzania, Germany, Pakistan, Japan and UAE.

2. AN RS POSTCARD FROM CHITTAGONG GRAMMAR SCHOOL, BANGLADESH:-

Six students of senior section participated in the RS Postcard organized byChittagong Grammar School, Bangladesh on 31st March 2021. The theme of the postcardCulture and tradition .More than 100 students from 18 schools from India, Bogota, Chile, China, and Australia joined the call.

1. BET School General Science Quiz:-02 boys from class IX & X and 02 boys of class XI and XII participated in Inter BET School General Science Quiz held at Birla School Pilani (RWS) on 27-02-2021. BPS bagged first position along with BBVP in (IX&X) and first position in (XI&XII) category.

2.Inter House Science Quiz:-On 28th February 2021 “Inter House Science Competition” was organised in Junior Section campus in Montessori Hall to celebrate National Science Day. 12 boys from Bal, 4 each from Kumar and Kishore house and 3 boys of class 6 from SG 1 & SG 2 house participated in the quiz. Online streaming of the event was also done parallelly on MS Team.

ROUND SQUARE ACTIVITIES:

1.Annual Regional Meet of the South Asian Gulf Region:-The Round Square Rep. Ms. Varsha Ratta presented the school’s achievement in Round Square Challenges 2020 in the Annual Regional Meet of the South Asian Gulf Region, along with Ms Rachael Westgarth the Round Square Chief Executive. BPS has the highest number of students in the 125 RS schools of the region to complete the 7months long RS IDEALS Challenges with around 70 activities and research work.

2. Yugen 2.0:- Our 07 students participated in Yugen 2.0 organized by Pathways word school. It was a virtual Round Square conference held for two days from 12th Feb. to 13th Feb. 2021.

3.Inventure Academy Educators’ Conclave Transforming Education Beyond 2020:- Ms. Priyanka Tomar presented the best practices with the Round Square Community and discuss how we can transform our teaching practices going forward on Friday, 12 February 2021.The Keynote speaker was Dr. Barbara (Bobbi) Kurshan, Senior Fellow and Innovation Advisor, UPenn, Graduate School of Education, University of Pennsylvania.

4.RS POSTCARD from Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hissar:-Our 06 students participated in the RS postcard from VDJS Hissar on 24th Feb.2021, the theme of the conference was Be a rainbow in somebody’s cloud’.

Our 2 students of grade IX and X participated in VIth Isfandyar Bukhari Declamation Forum 2021 conducted by Cadet Collage Hasanabdal, Pakistan on 23rd january’2021. 27schools of world repute participated in the program.

3)Martyrs Day : Martyrs day was observed on 30th Jan 2021, School observed two minutes silence at 11:00 am.

3- INTRA CLASS MATHEMATICS QUIZ 2020-21:-Intra Class Mathematics Quiz 2020-21 was conducted on 5 December. An online Socrative quiz was conducted as the preliminary round on 2nd December. The selected students took part in the final round on 5 December on the Ms teams Platform. Mrs. Narottama Sharma was the overall I/C for the Mathematics Quiz.

4- ONLINE ENGLISH DEBATE:- Online English Debate in the Cambridge format was conducted in the School from 7th December to 14th December. Mock Debate Sessions were conducted from 29th November to 2nd December to finalise the participants and prepare them for the final event. Students of grade VI-VIII participated in the event and one team comprised of students of grade VIVII&VIII.Total 32 students participated out of which 24 could reach up to main event. Three anchors were prepared to conduct the event formally.

5- NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY:-National Mathematics Day was celebrated in Birla Public School on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the Great World-Famous Indian Genius of Mathematics Srinivasa Ramanujan on 22 December, 2020

6-ONLINE INTER CLASS MATHS QUIZ 2020-21: On the occasion of Ramanujan birth Anniversary Birla Public School, Pilani organised different activities in all the three sections of school. An online inter class Maths Quiz was organised for class 10th at 10:00 a.m. on Microsoft Team on Dec.19, 2020.

7-INTER TEAMS ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION:Aryan Saraogi and Prabir Sandhu of class X organised an inter-teams Debate competition from 26 to 27 Dec 2020 under the guidance of Mr.Jaskaran Singh to give creative room to the students of class IX and X to express their perspectives and refine their oratorical skills. The format of the debate was a combination of Cambridge and Oxford formats.

8-GGS RS Inclusive Project 2020 - "Time to Enhance your Skills:- Genisis Global School Delhi has conducted Time to Enhance your Skillson 3rd December 2020a. Students collaborated with Genesis Global School Students in online virtual sessions. They were be part of various group activities that focused on building skills, teamwork skills and most importantly, helped them understand their peers and support the most needed, inclusive environment in the class. Students with special needs also participated in the project.

1. WEBINAR ON CLIMATE ACTION DAY:-

a.Students, while undergoing the Climate Action Project, attended a Webinar on Thursday 5th November (Climate Action Day) which was a live stream of speakers to conclude the 2020 Climate Action Project. The Climate Action Project is a free journey allowing teachers and students to collaborate on global scale on climate change topics over the course of six exciting weeks. The Students studied the causes and effects, tried to solve issues and suggested their measures to reduce the Climate Change caused by the negligence of the humans.

This project is supported by Dr. Jane Goodall, UN Foundation, the Irish president and world leaders. During the past years it was featured by National Geographic, BBC and 40 more national media.

Students listened to the lectures delivered by world acclaimed Jane Goodall, President Santos, Young activists and two Nobel Prize winners.

b. Two Video Conferences were conducted during the Climate Action Project.

Ø On 24th October, our students had a virtual meeting with the students of St. Giri Public School, New Delhi. Students shared their insight with the help of PPT.

On 13th October, our students had a virtual meeting with the students Heritage International School, Moldova. Students interacted and attempted a Kahoot Quiz on Climate Change.

2. SIS CONFLUENCE:- Our six students participated in Singapore International School, Mumbai Confluence on 24th November 2020. The students participated in debates and quiz.

3. K.C PUBLIC SCHOOL ART COLLABORATION:- Our four students participated in the K C Public School Art Collaboration on 30th November 2020. The students sent their entries which were appreciated by the host school.

5-HINDI POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION:-Hindi Recitation Competition final round was held on 12th of September ‘2020 on MS Teams platform. 6- BPS MUN CONFERENCE 2020:- BPS MUN Conference 2020 was organized from 18th to 19th September 2020 with 31 schools and more than 150 participants from across the world. The alumni Maj.Gen. Abhay Dayal Mathur and Mr. S.S. Sandhu were the keynote speakers for the conference.

7-WORKSHOP ON ‘HOW TO MAKE EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS’:-A workshop was conducted on “How to make educational videos” on 17th of September, 2020 at 1:20 PM in the Computer Lab by Mr. Kailash Sharma. The objective of the workshop wasto make teachers aware how make educational videos and the use of different tools like screen recorder, voice recorder, MS power point etc. All the teachers of junior section attended the workshop.

8-INTER HOUSE YOGA COMPETITION:-The virtual Inter House Yoga competition was held in the Birla public school junior section on 22th September, 2020 on MS Teams. Four students from each house participated in this competition. Students performed different types of asanas. Mr.Hari Singh and Mr.Vinod Kumar Saraswat were judges in this competition.

9- SCIENCE WEB CONFERENCE SYNERGY 2020: A science web conference synergy 2020 was organized by Science Department, Birla Public School on 26 September 2020. The expectations of this conference were Interaction cooperation and coordination between children of different thought processes towards science to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects which was fulfilled completely. Topics like Quantum computing, black hole, sports medicine role of AI, Vayu Jal were discussed. The presentation was done by the students from class 7th to class 12 in 3 different categories. A total of 46 children participated in this conference. In Group A, Arnav Mehta scored the first position, Devansh Rai 2nd and Siddharth Sharma bagged the third position. 10-ONLINE ART SUMMIT: Birla Public School Middle section organized online art summit on 30/09/2020 for young artists and makers for class 9th to explore the traditional/ folk art forms of their state and contribute as a young artist by recreating in their own way.

In this activity five young artist share and showcase their rich Indian traditional resources and materials in power point presentation with their own inspirational artwork.

11- INTER HOUSE LIBRARY QUIZ:-An Interhouse Library Quiz was conducted for the senior section boys on 26th Sept.2020 in two rounds. Two teams were eliminated after first round and the other four went ahead to the final round. Vashistha House won the quiz, Kanad, Katayayan and Panini stood second, third and fourth respectively.

12-WEB SEMINAR ON YOUNG PRODIGY:The social science department of Birla Public School, Pilani organized a web seminar on Young Prodigy on 30/09/2020. It was a seminar based on the young sports persons like Sachin Tendulakar, MahendraSingh Dhoni and Pankaj Advani. Students researched on their life for 30 days and presented in the form of power point presentation, video and there was question session after presentation of each team. There were seven teams in this team and 24 boys from class VIII to class XII participated and enhanced their critical thinking and analytical skill through this seminar.

13-ORIENTATION SESSION ABOUT THE LEARNING DISABILITIES:-An orientation session about the Learning Disabilities has been conducted by Mrs. Vineela Prakash, special educator on 28-09-2020 (1.20 PM to 2.00 PM) in the computer lab Junior Session. The objective of this session was to give exposure about the Learning Disabilities.

Wansh Agarwal of Class XII Commerce prepared an article on - ‘Better late than Never’ - ‘AatmNirbhar Bharat’ .NOMICK TANTIA & VED SINGHANIA of Class XII prepared Social Enterprise Case Study on ‘Goonj’, a non-governmental organisation. WanshAgarwal, Viashal Mehta, Chirag Bansal and Nihal Agarwal of Class XII Commerce prepared ‘Entrepreneurship Project’ on MULTANI MITTI.

c. THE DOON SCHOOL VISUAL ARTS FESTIVAL:-The Doon School Virtual Arts Festival was conducted from 28th to 30th Sep.2020. More than 150 students from 25 schools participated in this event. Six students participated in the event. Aryan Sarogi and Kushagrapresented in the conference.

1. ONLINE PATRIOTIC SOLO SINGING COMPETITION:-

The Online Patriotic Solo Singing competition was held on the 13th of August, 2020. Dr Vijay Laxmi Choudhary was the overall in-charge of the event. It was an intraclass competition and was open for all students of all the section. Students recorded their performance and shared through Flipgrid. Mr K.K.Surothiya (Music teacher, BPS middle Section) was the judge for this competition. 25 students participated in this competition.

2.COMMERCE QUIZ:-

Inter House Commerce Quiz was conducted digitally on 08 August 2020 at 8.30 Am.2 boys from each house have participated and entire class XI & XII boys witnessed the Program PaniniHouse got the First position and Patanjali house bagged the runner up

3- PRESENTATION ON NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 in Junior Section:-

An in-house presentation on NEP 2020 was organized in the junior section on 13th August 2020 by Mr P.K. Mallik, Mrs Narottama Sharma and Mrs Sonalika Singh.A presentation on the same was organized in Vijay Hall on 19th of August, 2020. Three teachers namely Mr P.S.Rajpurohit, Mr M.M.Sharma and Mrs Poonam Sharma gave the presentation.

4- SPELL BEE COMPETITION:-

Spell Bee competition was conducted for classes V to VIII from 22nd August to 26th August 2020. There were three rounds of competition. First two rounds were open for all the students in which two Socrative quizzes were conducted including Spellings of the words, word meanings, fill in the gaps, antonyms etc. The final round was conducted on MSTeam with finalists in which live quiz was conducted by the respective teacher-in-charge.

5.ENGLISH ELOCUTION COMPETITION FOR CLASS X: English Elocution Competition of Middle Section was conducted on 24 August 2020. There were three on-line practice sessions, where all the participants participated. English teachers Mr Himanshu Kumar and Mr A.K.DAS were present during practice sessions and guided them. The above-mentioned teachers also acted as judges during the final session, which was conducted virtually

6.ENGLISH RECITATION COMPETITION FOR CLASS IX: The English Recitation Competition for Class IX was conducted in the second week of August. 12 participants took part in the competition. The students were judged by Mr Himanshu Kumar and Mr Arun Kumar Das respectively.

7.WORLD QUIZ COMPETITION, 2020:- 14 students of our school from class 9th and 10th participated in the online “ WORLD QUIZ COMPETITION, 2020 ” organized by bit.ly on 08 Aug 2020. There were 50 questions from world history and one had to choose the correct option in one second. Overall it was very interesting and our students were able to score 32 to 40 points.

8. FIT INDIA RUN:- Fit India run was organised for the staff and their children on August 24 ,2020.Capt(IN) Alokesh Sen was the chief guest of the program.

9.MONTESSORI DAY CELEBRATION:- Montessori Day was celebrated virtually on MS Teams. All the students of Junior Section joined the virtual meeting and attended the programme. The Chief Guest of the programme Capt (IN) Alokesh Sen welcomed the students and parents and interacted with the parents. He briefed the parents about the importance of Montessori Day for Birla Public School. Students performed Invocation, Speech on Madam Maria Montessori, English Song, Role Play in Hindi and English, Dance, Skating, yoga virtually. Students even explained the Science and Mathematics models. Headmaster Mr P.S. Rajpurohit presented Vote of Thanks at the end of the programme.

6.Chittagong Grammar School,Virtual RS conference:-7 students participated in the virtual RS conference organised by Chittagong Grammar School, Bangladesh from August 3 to August 4 2020.

7. “Hitler’s Action” History Collaborative Project with Argentina:- The school started working in collaboration with Godspell College Argentina on the topic Hitler’s Actions. The students will work in groups and study Hitler beyond the text.

JULY, 2020

1- INTER/INTRA CLASS GK QUIZ:- Online Intra Class for Grade 5 and Inter Class Competition for Grade VI to VIII was held on 18th July 2020. There were two rounds in the quiz. In the first round, all the students of each class participated in the quiz on Socrative. Top six scorers from each class were selected for the final round. The final round was conducted on MS Teams.
2- ONLINE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS COMPETITION:-The online musical instruments competition was held on 18 July 2020. This competition was organized by Dr.Vijay Laxmi. The competition was open for all classes. Students recorded their performance and shared through Flipgrid.
3- ONLINE ENGLISH POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION:- An inter class English Poetry Recitation Competition was organized for classes V to VIII. The first round was open for all students to share their poems by 21 July 2020 and six best entries were selected for the final round of recitation. Six students participated from each class on 25 July 2020. The competition was organized online on MS Teams and E Certificates were given to all the winners.
4- Library Activities( Middle Section and Senior Section):-Article writing, Story Writing and Book Summary Writing were held during the vacations in middle section and Biography writing, Story writing, Book Review, Article Writing, Curious Incident Writing Competition was organized for the senior section during the vacations. E certificates were given to all the students.
5-Online Hindi Debate for class 10th:- Online Hindi debate on the topic” Aabhaasi shiksha kaksha shikshan se behatar hai” for class 10th was organized in Middle Section on 31st July 2020.

a. Rajmata Krishna Kumari Conclave:- Eight students of Senior section participated in RKK International conclave from July 4th to July 7th 2020. It was a collaborative activity. The participants have received the certificates.

Round Square International Collaborations: -
a. RS INDIA ARGENTINA ENERGY COLLABORATION: - 10 students of BPS and three teachers have started working on an Energy collaboration under the Environment pillar of Round Square with 30 students and two teachers of The Godspell College Argentina. It is an online collaboration where the students of BPS will help the Argentinians to develop their own prototypes as PET CAT and Cyclonic Air Purifier.
b. SCINDIA KANAYA VIDYALAYA “NO INSTRUMENT MUSIC VIDEO CHALLENGE”:- Two of our students Uday Surothiya and Nihal Ranjan Nayak participated in the challenge. Their entries were sent to the respective school. Around 30 schools from across the South Asian Gulf Region are participating in the activity.
c. DHIRU BHAI AMBANI SCHOOL ROUND SQUARE ONLINE WORKSHOPS: - Two of our students Krish Chhapolia and Aditya Gelani are participating in the above stated workshops.Around 10 schools from across the world are participating in this activity.
d. INDIAN HIGH SCHOOL, DUBAI ROUND SQUARE “EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE” POSTER – MESSAGE WRITING ACTIVITY: - Four students, Krish Chappolia, Aryan Sarogi,Aniket Bansal and Himanshu Soni are participating in the activity. Our school has been paired with Punjab Public School NABHA. Around 30 schools from around the world are participating in this activity.
e. WELHAM BOYS’S “ZOOMING OUT COVID” INTER-SCHOOL STILL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION: - Four students Arth Chauhan, Vishwash Singh( Senior Categoty) and Advik Sharma and Sahil Sharma ( Junior Category) participated in the competition with three pictures each on The Selfie, The Nature I See, Expression of Lockdown. Around 30 schools from around the world are participating in the competition.

a. Maria Public School Online Photography Competition: - Six students our school have sent their entries for the online Photography Competition hosted by Maria Public School Assam under the Round Square Collaborations.
b. Raj Mata Krishna Kumari Girls High School Online Painting Competition:- 15 students of our school are sending entries for the online painting competition on Covid-19 being hosted by RKK Girls High School, Jodhpur under the Round Square Collaborations.
c. Round Square IDEALS Challenge: - 10 Students are participating in the Round Square IDEALS Weekly challenge which includes five to six written and project related activities started on 12th March. The work done by the students is being published on RS Facebook page via school’s Facebook page.
Service:- Tejovarsh Acharya of Birla Public School, Pilani, driven by the spirit of service imbibed through RS association, not only donated Rs.25000 saved from his pocket money to the Collector of Bikaner, Rajasthan to help the people suffering from the pandemic, Covid -19 but also formed a team of volunteers and help sanitize the affected areas of his locality with Hypo-chloride. His team raised funds and distributed one-month’s ration (like wheat, rice, oil, spices etc.) to the needy and contributed 60 liters oil, 200 kg wheat flour and 100 kg sugar to an NGO "Sadev Annpurna Organistation". His team also distributed masks, sanitizers, gloves & water bottles to the frontline workers. Tejovarsh’s broad spirit of compassion made him serve even stray animals like cows and dogs in his locality. 1- INTER HOUSE SCIENCE QUIZ: -Inter House Science Quiz Competition was conducted on 2nd March 2020. Total 6 students participated from each house of grade VI to VIII. Results are as follows: - Kumar House bagged the 1st Position, Bal House bagged 2nd Position, Kishore House bagged the 3rd Position.
2- CULTURAL EVENING:- Cultural evening cum Farewell for class 8th students was organized on 04th March, 2020. Two items from each house were presented. Outgoing students of class 8th shared their experiences of their stay in junior section.
3- SAHODAYA INTER SCHOOL PAINTING COMPETITION: -BPS bagged the overall winners’ trophy in the above mentioned competition held on 3rd March 2020.Aryan Saraogi , Hardik Jalan and Harshit Goyal got the 1st position in Senior, middle and junior category respectively. Viraj Saraogi got second position in junior group and Himanshu Soni got consolation in middle group.
4- COVID-19 DONATIONS:- BPS staff and students have come forward to donate according to their mirth in the PM Cares Fund. Our student Tejoversh Acharya donated all his savings from his pocket money (25000) rupees to help the nation fight the pandemic.

BET ENGLISH PENTANGULAR: The third Pentangular of the session 2019-20 was conducted on Feb. 08, 2020 at Birla Shishu Vihar. 80 students of the school participated with full zeal and enthusiasm in both the closed and open categories of the activity concerned. Sixteen boys of the school hailing from all the three sections bagged various positions and thereby brought laurels to the school.

8th ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF BET TEACHERS 2020: On Feb. 18, 2020 all the teachers of our school attended the Annual Conference on Progressive Educational Practices in Vijay Hall. The theme of the conference was “Draft – National Education Policy”. Ambassador Dr. Deepak Vohra & Ms. Rita Taneja were the two guest speakers.

SPECIAL LECTURE BY AMBASSADOR DEEPAK VOHRA: On 18th Feb. 2020. Entire Middle section attended a special lecture & an interactive session with Ambassador Deepak Vohra at 6:30 p.m. in Vijay hall.

SCIENCE AND CREATIVITY WEEK: Science and creativity week was celebrated at Birla science center from 22nd to 28th Feb, 2020.Schools under BET participated in different events organized for students of primary and secondary level. Total 36 students of Junior wing and 31 students from middle section participated in total 12 events BPS stood 1st based on overall performance in different events and awarded with a HUMANOID ROBOT KIT at the end of the celebration of week. Our trustee Mr. S.K. Birla joined the prize distribution ceremony and graced the occasion. Results are as follows:-

ROAD SAFETY WORKSHOP :- The Honda Company conducted a three day workshop (11 Feb-13 Feb) in Birla Public School Pilani to Sensitize the Kids on the importance of the “Road Safety” in an interactive environment under Social awareness campaign. Mr Jatin Kataria was the resource person and conducted the workshop in two sessions .The first Session was on theory which explains the global and Indian situation of traffic rules, road safety techniques, road marking and driving in challenging conditions etc. The second session includes road safety games, road sign awareness and educating and training them about the importance of the road safety.

PRE-APOGEE PAINTING COMPETITION: 22 BOYS FROM Middle Section participated in the event. This event was organised in the BITS , Pilani to commemorate “ Green Week” on 15th Feb., 2020 on the topic “Water Conservation” followed by the formation of Human Chain at Rotunda. 2.CBSE NATIONAL LEVEL SCIENCE EXHIBITION: - Two students, Saurabh Kr. Jain and Tejovrash Acharya participated in the CBSE National Science Competition from 16th to 18th January 2020 at Suncity School Gurgram with their model Cyclonic Air Purifier.

3.NABET TRAINING FOR SCHOOL ASSESSMENT: - Ms Varsha Ratta attended the NABET Training for school Assessment at NABET Delhi Office from 16th to 18th January 2020.

5.REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION :-on 26th January 2020, 71ST Republic Day was celebrated in our School. Students participated in March Past, Band, Yoga etc.

6.FOUNDER’S DAY/ BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATIONS: - Founder’s Day/ Basant Panchami was celebrated on 30th of January 2020 at Shardapeeth, BITS Pilani. Dr. Sudheer Kumar Barai, Director BITS was the chief guest of the event. After Saraswati Stuti all the prize winner students were awarded.Mr. D.C. Mishra, Mr. Vikas Tiwari, Mr. Sarvesh Kumar, Mr. Pawan Kumar Mallik and Mrs. Bhavani Joshi were awarded as Best performers.Program ended with Saraswati Aarti.

7.INTER HOUSE SANSKRIT SHLOKA CHANTING COMPETITION: On Jan.31,2020 in Vijay Hall at 7p.m. Inter house Sanskrit shloka chanting competition was held. From each house Two students participated. First position was bagged by Aman Raj (MH), Second position was shared by Mandeep Yadav (GH) and Aryan Singh (MH) followed by Harshit Pathak (DH).

8.INTER BET STAFF CRICKET TOURNAMENT: From Nov. 15, 2019 to Dec.13, 2019 an Inter BET Staff Cricket tournament was organised. Total 8 teams were participated in this tournament. From each school two teams of teachers were participated. Final match was played on Dec.13,2019 between A- team of Birla School, Pilani and B-team of Birla Public School, Pilani. Team BPS was runner up.

9.VISIT TO KHETRI MUSEUM: As a step towards providing information about Swami Vivekananda BPS organized and educational trip to Ajit- Vivek Museum, khetri for the students of class VIII on 18 Jan 2020. 46 Student enriched their knowledge with the 15min documentary on Naresh Ajit Singh and Swami Vivekananda. Two hundred forty-four students of BPS Jr. section went for outing on 07th Dec.2019 at cannought place, BITS Pilani. The staff members of Jr. section escorted the students. Students had lunch at Looters, BITS and enjoyed the shopping.

ROUND SQUARE CONFERENCE- PPS, NABHA :-Round Square Conference was held at Punjab Public School, Nabha on topic Clean and green, Everyone’s dream from 9th December 2019 to 13th December 2019. Students participated in making projects, service to a government school for girls, decorating and colouring the pots, plantation, cultural evening, attended the lectures and exchanged their thoughts on global warming, use of plastic and measures to control it. INTER HOUSE MATHS QUIZ:- Inter House Maths quiz was conducted in Birla Public School Jr Section Assembly Hall on 19/12/2019.The quiz master Mrs. Narottama Sharma (TGT Mathematics) conducted the Inter House Mathematics Quiz. Mr. P.K. Mallik, Ms Preeti Sharma were the Time Keepers and Mr.P.K.Tanwar handled Score Keeping. Mr. Ajay Pandey HOD Mathematics was the chief guest for the event. Headmaster Junior section was the guest of honour for the above mentioned competition. Eighteen students, six from each house i.e. Bal , Kishore and Kumar House were selected to participate in the quiz. There were six rounds in all including-

The students participated in the quiz enthusiastically. Peace Song Project

WORLD PEACE SONG PROJECT (INTERNATIONAL PROJECT)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:-Teachers are invited to join the World Peace Song Music project under the direction of Professor Yoshiro Miyata, Chukyo University. In this project, people living in different parts of the world collaborate to create a global chorus to express peace. Based on World Peace Song 'We Are One Family' composed by the internationally acclaimed group Women of the World, each group will create lyrics to express what peace means to them in their native language, sing and record. The recordings are mixed together to create a global chorus.

PARTICIPANTS:- 15 students of grade IV and V

ACTICITIES:-

Children firstly compose lyrics in Hindi to express what peace means for them.

The song is learnt and sung on the base music tunes of World Peace Song ‘We Are One Family’.

Finally the recording is sent to Ms Lorraine (project coordinator of World Peace Song Project)

The recording are attached on the world map by Professor Yoshiro Miyata, Chukyo University https://tinyurl.com/yyntw49 and the participating school is listed on the website http://wmuseum.weebly.com/.The students will also interact with Ms Lorraine to share their experience and what peace means to them ‘My Peace’.

THAR EXPEDITION: This year 34 students of Middle Section has gone in Thar expedition in the guidance of Headmaster and Mr. Vijay Singh Rathore. They started their journey for Thar on 21st December’19. The age group of boys is 13-14 years. Middle section has started organizing the desert expeditions from last two year to develop the endurance in the students and giving them exposure to the various life skills.

NOVEMBER, 2019

1. DOON SCHOOL HINDI DEBATE: Our school team participated in Doon School Hindi Debate from 7-11-2019 to 9-11-2019 in first round our team won against Gems School Dubai. In second round BPS team won against Daily College and reached in Semifinals. We lost in Semifinals with RIMC. Master Kartik Agrawal (BH) was adjudged the best speaker of the debate in semifinal round.

2. EXTRAMARKS TEACHERS TRAINING: On Nov 9, 2019 a training session of Extra marks for teachers of middle section was organized by Extramarks personals to make the teachers aware with the upgraded Module of Extra Marks.

3. ALL INDIA MASTER 26 SPELL BEE 2019:2 boys from Middle section Master Aniket Bansal (GH) and Master Aryan Saraogi (DH) participated in Spell Bee competition held at Mann Public school, Delhi on Nov.08,2019. They reached up to finals in five rounds. Total 44 students of 22 schools participated from all over India.

4. NABET SURVILLANCE VISIT: The Annual Progress Review assessment was conducted by NABET on 14th & 15th November 2019. Dr Meenakshi Bana & Dr Usha Ravi were the Assessors and Mr Nikhil Relia was the observer. The assessment took place based on suggestions for improvement by the Final Audit assessors, Dr Sheela Raghvan & Ms Deepali Daga conducted on 28th & 29th April 2018. A closure report for the same was presented to the Assessors during the Opening Meeting of the assessment. The assessment took place for two days and all 28 processes were assessed.

5. WORKSHOP ON THE USE OF ICT TOOL IN MATHS:-A short workshop on the use of ICT tool Geo Gebra in the classes was conducted by Pawan Kumar Mallik for the maths teachers of the junior section on 01st November 2019, under the guidance of the Headmaster (Jr Sec).

6. BET INTER SCHOOL ATHLETIC MEET: BET Inter School Athletic Meet was held on 2nd Nov. 2019, at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Pilani. Our 29 students participated in this event. Our school was declared Runner Up in this event

7. INTER BET FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT U-14 : Our school football team U-14 secured first position in inter BET football tournament under captaincy of Master Arth Chauhan (DH) & Kumar Prateek (VH) held at Birla High school Pilani, from 19/11/19 to 21/11/19.

8. INTER BET VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT U-14: Our school volleyball team played two league matches with BSP (25-07 & 25-21) & BSV (25-21 & 31-29) in inter BET tournament. Our team won both matches and secured first position (Gold medal). Team captain Master Durgesh of class IX (MH) was awarded as best player of the tournament.

9. INTER BET BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT U-14: Our school basketball team played league matches against BSP (lost by 31-21) & BSV (won by 12-69) and secured second position (Silver Medal) under captaincy of Master Faizan (BH). Master Faizan was declared Best Scorer of the tournament.

10. INTER BET SWIMMING COMPETITION: The INTER BET swimming competition was held on 4th and 5th November 2019 at BPS.BSP won the U -14 & U-19 and BPS bagged the 2nd Position.

11. INTER BET GREETING CARD MAKING COMPETITION: 7 boys of middle section participated in this competition held in BITS Library.Himansh Soni of 8-E (MH) bagged the 1st position, James Nalo 10-B (VH)bagged the 2nd position, Marjit Das Gupta 8-C (DS)bagged the 3rd position and Ayush Jaiswal 9-A (DH) got the consolation prize.

12. CHILDREN DAY CELEBRATION: Middle Section celebrated Children day with great enthusiasm. On this occasion friendly matches of Cricket and Volleyball was organised between teachers and students. Special Assembly was conducted in the Junior Section by the teachers and various items were presented.

13. INTER HOUSE CRICKET TOURNAMENT: Inter house cricket tournament started from Nov 9, 2019. The final match of the tournament was played on Nov12 ,2019 between MH and VH. MH lifted the trophy of the tournament. Based on their performance following students were declared:

16. SOCIAL SERVICE: The boys of Junior and Middle of Birla Public School received the IDF form before proceeding for short Diwali holiday. During their short stay at home 139 students have collected Rs 62,631.00 from their friends, relatives and neighbors and have joined hands with INDIAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION which works for the Health, Education and Development of our society.

17. GURUNANK JAYANTI: Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti was celebrated in the school Dining Hall on 12 Nov 2019.

18.ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION: The 75th Annual Day was celebrated on 25th of November 2019. 600 students participated in different activities like School Parade , Band display and Yoga during Outdoor program. The Art, Clay, Wood , Metal and Science exhibitions were organized on this occasion. Students interacted with (Chief guest Dr.S.Guruprasad) & (Guest of honour Dr. Mayank Dwivedi) both are the scientists in DRDO, Govt of India. The cultural program was organized in the evening where the students displayed their talents through the programs like English and Hindi skit, Mime, Songs and Dance.

19.OLD BOYS DAY: Alumni day was celebrated on 26th Nov,2019. They started their day with Horse riding. The students and old boys enjoyed Hockey on skates in Jr. Section, Volleyball, Football and Basketball match were also played in Senior Section. In the evening whole BPS family enjoyed musical concert by Sameer Bhatia (Band).

20. GEOGRAPHY AWARENESS WEEK: Geography Awareness week was celebrated in the Birla Public School, Jr. Section from 18 November to 23 November 2019. *Presentation was presented by Ms. Neelam Mata on the Physical features of India.

*Talk was presented by the students on Zero Waste to promote life on the Earth.

* Online Quizzes were organized by Ms. Aditi and Ms. Sonam for all the classes.

* Poster making Activity was organized for the class IV to VII on the various theme:-

21.CBSE – ADOBE CREATIVITY CHALLENGE FOR STUDENTS OF CLASSES VI-XII” : Under “CBSE – Adobe Creativity Challenge for Students of Classes VI-XII” (vide CBSE/Notification93), 8 students in two projects under Category 1 (Grade 6th to 8th) created an animation & stamp using Adobe Tools, honouring the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The projects were submitted on 20 Nov 2019.

21. TIME PROJECT FALL 2019: ACTIVITY- “DESIGN A CLOCK” An Activity “Design a clock” under Time Project Fall 2019 was conducted in which a clock was designed and built on the theme “We must change the world” & a detailed report was submitted to Time Headquarters on 22 Nov 2019

INTERACTION PROGRAM WITH THE MATHS TEACHERS OF SKV VIDYASHRAM, TAMILNADU: A short interaction program with the maths teachers of SKV Vidyashram, Tamilnadu was organized by Pawan Kumar Mallik via Skype on 29, Nov 2019 with the coordination of the Headmaster (Jr Sec) on the topic of the use of ICT tool GoeGebra.

23. BRICS MATHS ONLINE COMPETITION: As many as 200 students of junior section participated in the BRICS Maths online competition in the month of November, 2019. Coordinator of the program was Pawan Kumar Mallik.

VIDEO CONFERENCES CONDUCTED IN THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER : To celebrate the power of global learning, share about cultures and environments near and far, as well as to fostered empathy and compassion for each other and our planet, the school participated in Microsoft Global Learning Connect held on 5th and 6th November. 50 Students of Grade IV, V and VI connected through video conferences with 10 countries namely – Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, USA, Nigeria, Poland, Vietnam, Malaysia, Canada and Russia covering 29,429,793 virtual miles. The interactions were based on cultural exchange, guest lectures and Mystery Skype.

OCTOBER, 2019

· 5 boys along with the Rs rep and the Principal attended the RSIC 2019 at Emerald Heights International School, Indore.Around 1100 delegates form allover the world participated in the conference. The highlights of the conference were the speakers like Kailash Satyarthi, Sashi Tharoor, Sophiya the first Humanoid, Swami Gaur Gopal Das, Col. D.P Singh, the first blade runner of India and Madam Gandhi the activist.

· Seven boys of the Birla Public School participated in the Scindia School Inter School Debate Competition which was held from the 2nd to the 6th of October.BPS English debating team reached the semifinal round.

· Five students of BPS went to Khaitan Public School to participate in Khaitan MUN Thinkers Conclave held on 11th and 12 of October 2019.

· Three students 2 from class 7 and one from class 8 participated in BET Science Quiz. held in BBVP, Pilani on 5th Oct, 2019.BPS won the 2nd Position.

· -Mr. P.K Mallik & Mr. Piyush attended INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODS FOR JOYFUL LEARNING IN MATHEMATICS Conducted by Centre of excellence, CBSE, Regional Office, Ajmer on 14 and 15 October, 2019.

· 12 boys of our school to Birla Sishu Vihar, Pilani on 01 Oct, 2019 on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary celebration of Gandhi ji to present a skit on Mahatma Gandhi and his struggle against black act in South Africa. On 2nd Oct,2019, 65 boys went to the Gandhi statue in BITS campus to participate in the Gandhi Jayanti Programme.

The All India IPSC Volleyball Tournament 2019-20 (Boys, U-14, & U-19) was hosted by Hyderabad Public School, Ramanthapur, Hyderabad from 28-30 Sep, 2019. A total of fourteen teams participated in the tournament from all over India. BPS won the Championship in both the categories. · The Inter School Volleyball tournament was organised from 4th Oct. to 8th Oct. 2019 among the three schools of BET- Birla Public School, Birla Shishu Vihar and Birla School, Pilani. In senior category BPS, BSP and BSV bagged the 1st 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Junior category BPS, BSV and BSP bagged the 1st 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

· THE BHARAT SCOUT & GUIDE ADVENTURE CAMP:-The Bharat Scout & Guide Adventure Camp was organized at Divisional Head Quarter Pushkar, Ajmer from 27th Sept. 2019 to 01st Oct. 2019. 178 students participated in this camp.

· Interhouse boxing tournament for senior and middle section was played from 04.10.2019 to 06.10.2019. total 83 boxers participated in it.Vyas house bagged the first position .In Middle Section Mahavir house, bagged the first position.

· Inter house GK quiz competition was held on 5th October,2019 in assembly hall of Jr Section.

· CBSE ARCHERY WEST ZONE COMPETITION: CBSE Archery west Zone Competition was held at Mayo College, Ajmer form 14th Oct. 2019 to 16th Oct. 2019. BPS bagged First position in U 14,U 17 and U 19.

· A meeting was held on 15th October in the Assembly hall at 9 a.m. presided by the Principal. The following points were discussed:

  • Punctuality in performing duties.
  • Create Happy Classrooms with positive mindset.
  • Adopt right perspective to resolve any issue.
  • Teachers’ suggestions regarding improvement in Academics.

· International Art Meet was organized at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth from 24th Oct. 2019 to 28th Oct. 2019. Seven students participated in this workshop.

· EXPERT LECTURE :- 20 students of grade VII & VIII attended an expert lecture by Dr. Surender Pal on Chandrayaan-2 at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth on 25th October, 2019.

· VIDEO CONFERENCES:-GLOBAL READ ALOUD (ITERNATIONAL PROJECT) LEARNING OBJECTIVES: - Selected a book to read aloud to our students during a period of 6 weeks starting from 3 rd Oct, 2019 to 11 th Nov, 2019. Selected books ‘Front Desk’ by Kelly Yang.

ALL INDIA IPSC FOOTBALL U-17: U-17 football team participated in all India IPSC football tournament, held at Sanawar school & Pinegrove School Dharampur, HP. from 01/09/19 to 05/09/19. and the following 4 players were selected for SGFI nationals : Ruben Saxena, Arjun Dev Aditya, Kania Bengia, Ankit Kumar.

ALL INDIA IPSC YOGA COMPETITION: 6 students participated in All India IPSC Yoga competition 2019 held at Birla Public School from 16 September to 18 September 2019. Rudra Pratap Singh- BH secured Gold medal & got selected for SGFI. 4 boys secured Silver medal. Ansh Gupta remain on 1st reserve position for SGFI nationals.

SWACHHATA ABHIYAN PAKHWADA: The School celebrated swachhata Abhiyan Pakhwada from 1st Sept 2019 to 15th Sept,2019. Theme based paper reading, poster making, slogan writing competition and cleanliness campaign were the main highlights of the event.

HINDI DIWAS CELEBRATION: To promote the use of Hindi, The school celebrated Hindi Diwas on 14th Sept 2019.

IPSC BOXING TOURNAMENT: 10 boxers of our school participated in All India IPSC Boxing tournament which was held at Rashtriya Military School, Dholpur from 18.09.2019 to 20.09.2019. BPS won 4 GOLD, 1 SILVER and 3 BRONZE Medals. BPS secured overall 3rd position in the tournament. Our 4 Boxers have qualified for SGFI Nationals.

Birla Public School has been ranked as sixth top school of its category in India by the Education World.

Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th Sept, 2019. Students presented a short cultural programme in honour of the teachers.

B.E.T Teachers Felicitation Programme was organized on 4thSept,2019 on the occasion of Teacher’s Day in Vijay Hall in the evening.

15 boys of Middle Section along with Scout Master Manoj Shastri went to participate in Rajasthan Rajya Bharat Scout & Guide Camp held at Birla School, Pilani from 23rd Sept to 27th Sept, 2019 for the training of dutiya and tritya sopan.

HINDI POEM RECITATION COMPETITION : Hindi Recitation Competition was held on 16/09/19 in Assembly Hall at 4:00 pm.

The competition was divided into two groups:

1] Pre-Prep Category

2] Prep Category.

In Pre-Prep Category, Six Boys participated and in Prep Category Sixteen boys participated.

4- SPELL BEE COMPETITIONS: Spell Bee competitions were conducted for classes IV -VIII from 19th September to 26th September.

From 16th Sept,2019 to 18th Sept, 2019 a training session on First Aid was organized for the Boys of Middle Section. Our School Infirmary personals Mr Kantilal and Mr Surender Sharma gave the demonstrations to the students.

Mrs. Vineela Prakash, the Special Educator attended the National Conference on “Addressing Barriers in the Environment and Universal Design for The Person with Disabilities” at National Career Service Center for the Differently Abled, Karkardooma Delhi from 19th to 21st Sept.

To develop an interest in Theatre and performing arts for our students a Theatre Show was organized in Vijay Hall on 24 Sept, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. On this occasion Tare Zamene Par Movie famed Child artist Darsheel Safari and his team presented An Urban Hindi Comedy - A Theatre Show “KAISE KARENGE”

20 students of our school NCC Army wing attended Annual Training Camp from 25 Sept, 2019 to 04 Oct, 2019 held at Vrindavan, Chirawa.

17 students of NCC airwing attended CATC from 25th Aug -5th Sep 2019 at Phagi in Jaipur.

7 boys of our school went to Birla School Pilani on 20 Sept,2019 to take part in Hindi Poetry Recitation and Poetry Writing Competition. In Poetry writing under senior category our school bagged 1st position.

A book fair was organized from 22 Sept,2019 to 24 Sept,2019 to enhance the reading habits in students

AUGUST , 2019

1- MOCK PARLIAMENT OF WORLD RELIGION: Mock parliament of world religion was organized on Aug. 09, 2019. Twelve popular religions were selected for the event. Participants highlighted their holy scriptures, rituals and festivals. The aim of the activity was to develop a sense of belongingness and to become a secular citizen of 21st century.

2- BET INTER SCHOOL PATRIOTIC SONG COMPETITION: BET Inter School Patriotic Song Competition was held on 14/08/2019. Sixty students from all the BET schools (Except Birla International school and BPS G) participated in the competition. Birla Balika Vidyapeeth was the overall winner of the competition, BPS was the runner-up, third position was secured by BSV and the fourth position was bagged by BSP.

3- INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION: The Independence Day was celebrated on 15/08/2019 in BPS Jr. playground. Principal hoisted the flag and addressed the gathering. Students participated in March past, Band and Scout March past.

4- RAKSHA BANDHAN: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 15/08/2019 in Junior section. Teachers tied Rakhi to the students. Some Students visited Birla Balika Vidyapeeth and met their sisters.

5- ALL INDIA IPSC FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: Our U-14 football team participated in all India IPSC football tournament under captaincy of Master Kurung Bengia IX (VH) and Preet Rathi IX (VH), which was held at YPS, Mohali, Punjab, from 02/08/19 to 05/08/19.

6- MAYO FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: Our U-19 football team participated in Mayo football tournament under captaincy of Pradhuman singh shekhawat and Lakshya himmatramka which was held at Mayo College, Ajmer, Rajasthan, from 19/08/19 to 23/08/19. Final match of tournament was played against Mayo College and our team won the match and created history by 01- 00 in final match. Satyam Singh was awarded The Best defender of the tournament.

7- INTER SCHOOL SANSKRIT SHLOKA CHANTING COMPETITION: Inter School Sanskrit Shloka Chanting Competition was organised in the Vijay Hall of the school on 17th Aug 2019 at 10.00 hrs. Major General S.S. Nair (Retired), AVSM, Director BET was the chief guest on the ocassion 17 schools participated in the competition. Overall First, Second and Third positions were bagged by Birla Public School Pilani, Birla Sishu Vihar Pilani and O.P. Jindal Modern School, Hisar respectively.

8- SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON HIROSHIMA PEACE DAY: On Aug. 6, 2019 a special assembly was organized in Vijay Hall. On this occasion Master Pratham Choudhary gave a special talk and shown a video. Boys of Buddha House (middle section) presented a skit on world peace. An informative PPT on Hiroshima Day was also shown by Master Kartik Agrawal & Animesh Khandelwal.

9- Inter House Volleyball Tournament:-The Inter House of Senior Section Volleyball tournament 2019-20 was organized at Volleyball court in Birla Public School, Pilani from 21-26 Aug 2019. The first position was bagged by Katyayan House, second position was bagged by Vyas House, the third position was bagged by Patanjali House ,5th position was bagged by Kanad House and 6th position was bagged by Vashishtha House.

10- INTER- HOUSE ENGLISH DEBATES:- Inter- House English Debates was organized for the Senior houses from 24th to 26th August 2019. Vyas House stood the over all winner of the debates. Vashistha House stood Runner-up, Katyayan and Kanad House bagged the 3rd position.

11- SPIC- MACAY:- Manipuri Dance by internationally renowned dancer Bimbavati Devi and her group under the banner of SPIC MACAY was organized on 25 Aug, 2019.

12- E- BAAT:- The Reserve Bank of India ,Jaipur organised E-Baat for the students of senior section on 27th August 2019.

13- ROUND SQUARE INTERNATIONAL ART COMPETITION: Our 6 students participated in Art competition conducted by Round Square International Conference from 26th to 30th Aug,2019. The Theme of the event was “Sarvodaya – The World We Wish To See”.

14- BSV MOCK PARLIAMENT:- BSV Mock Parliament was held from August 30, 2019. 25 students from BPS participated in the program. Master Bharat Ghanwani was adjudged as “The Best Speaker” from Birla Public School by the Jury members.

15- DOON SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT: BPS U-14 Football team participated in invitational tournament in the Doon School from 27th Aug, 2019 to 31st Aug, 2019. Total 12 teams participated in the tournament. BPS won all matches of the pool and advanced in quarterfinals with top position of the pool. BPS won quarterfinal match with Indian Public School, Dehradun. Semifinal match was played between Doon School and BPS and we lost it with (2 – 1).

16- NCC ANNUAL TRAINING CAMP: - 17 students of our school NCC Air wing attended Annual Training Camp from 27 Aug, 2019 to 5 Sept, 2019 held at Phagi Jaipur.

17- MONTESSORI DAY CELEBRATIONS: - Montessori Day was celebrated on 30th Aug. 2019. The program was in two parts – Indoor and Outdoor. Indoor program was held in Vijay Hall and the Outdoor program was held in Junior section.

18- PLATINUM JUBILEE ALL INDIA DEBATES:- Platinum Jubilee All India Debates was conducted from 29th August to 1st September 2019.14 teams including 4 schools of BET participated in the debate. Mody school Lakshmagarh won the debates and The Hyderabad Public School stood the runner-up.

1- INTER HOUSE HINDI STORY TELLING COMPETITION:A Inter House Hindi Story Telling Competition was organized by Mid. Sec. Library on 09th May 2019. Three students from each house of Middle Section participated in the event Master Dhairya Tyagi (DH) got First Position, Aman Raj (MH) and Arth Chauhan (DH) got II position, Yash Teotia (DH) scored Third position. Dayanand House stood first,Vivekanand House stood second and Gurunanak house stood third.

2- INTER HOUSE ENGLISH STORY TELLING COMPETITION:An Inter House English Story Telling Competition was organized by Mid. Sec. Library on 10th May 2019. Three students from each house of Middle Section participated in the event. Mrs. Deepika Shekhawat and Mr. Himanshu Kumar Judged the competition. Master Himanshu Soni (MH) got First Position, Vatsal Gaur (MH) and Aryan Saraogi (DH) got II position, Prabir Sandhu (VH) scored Third position. Mahaveer,Vivekanand House and Buddha House stood first,second and third respectively.

3- HINDI CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION:An Inter-class Hindi Calligraphy Competition was held on 13th July, 2019.All the students of class IV to VIII Participated in this competition.

4- VISIT TO PAHARI TEMPLE:The Students of Junior section, middle section and senior section visited Pahari mandir on 16th,17thand 19thJuly 2019 respectively ,to take the blessings of Lord Hanumana.

5- INTER CLASS GK QUIZ COMPETITION :An Inter Class GK Quiz Competition was conducted on 20/07/19in Assembly hall. Two students from each section of all the classes participated in this competition.

6- BET BINTERNATIONAL CAREER FAIR:-BET International Career Fair was organized on 18th and 19th Jult,2019 in Birla Public School. A Total of 22 International universities including few Indian Universities participated in the event. More than 1000 students from all five BET schools participated in the fair.

7- 2nd KOREAN – INDO FRENDSHIP PAINTING COMPETITION: Five students from each House of Middle Section took part in the 2nd Korean-Indo Friendship Painting competition on July 18,2019 and July19, 2019 . The entries were sent to Korean Embassy NEW-DELHI. Results are awaited.

8- - INTER HOUSE FOOTBALL COMPETITION :Inter House Football Competition was held from 20-07-19 TO 23-07-19. Bal, Kishore and Kumar House stood first, second and third respectively.

9- INTER-HOUSE HINDI DEBATE COMPETITION:-An Inter-house Hindi Debate competition was held on 20th July 2109.Kanad,Katyayan and Vashistha House stood first ,second and third respectively.

10-INTER-HOUSE RADIO RUPAK:-The inter-house Radio Rupak was organized on 21st of July 2019.Kanad and Katyayan House bagged the 1st position and Vyas and Panini house stood second and third respectively.

11-INTER-HOUSE WALL PAINTING:- An Inter-house wall painting Competition was organized on 23rd and 24th of July 2019.Patanjali, Panini and Vyas House bagged the first, second and third Position respectively

12-SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON VIJAY DIWAS: A special assembly was organized on July 26, 2019 in Vijay Hall to commemorate the martyr of Kargil War. On this occasion House Master (MH) - Mr. Manoj Tiwari gave a special talk and shown a video. Boys of middle section presented different items. An informative PPT on Kargil war was also shown by GH boys.

13- INTER HOUSE JINGLE COMPETITION:An Inter-House Jingle Competition was heldOn 26th July 2019 in the Library of Middle Section.Five teams participated in all. Each team had three participants. Buddha & Dayanand bagged the 1stposition,Gurunank House bagged the 2nd position and Mahavir House bagged the 3rd position.

OTHER EVENTS:

1- Master PrikshitSood from Middle Section scaled an unnamed peak about 16000 feet high in 10 days with the climbers of USA, CANADA and SWITZERLAND . This is an UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE which is located in TirthaanVallyof DisttKullu-(HP). Later the Peak was named as KAYHA PEAK. He was the youngest climber of the group.

APRIL , 2019

1. Cycle Expedition: The cycle tour team after exploring the silk route (680kms) returned back on 5th April ’19. A warm welcome was given to all the participants of the event by the BET Director and other dignitaries.

2. Staff Meeting :

A Staff meeting of junior section was held on 8thApril, 2019 in the Assembly Hall at 4.00 pm. The Headmaster presided over the meeting. The following points were discussed:

3. Godhuli on Ramanavami: As per the school’s tradition the first godhuli of the session was conducted on 13th April’19 on Ramanavami. Mr. Manoj Kumar enlightened the students about the significance of the Ramanavami celebration and threw light on the life of Rama while students presented a lovely bhajan on the occasion.

4. Time Project :As a recipient member of UNESCO ASP net (Associated Schools Project Network), the school connected with various other enlisted schools and participated in ‘This is our Time’ a fast paced, multilingual and intercultural global communications project.

The Time Project is a global online network of over 300 dedicated and motivated schools, youth groups and UNESCO clubs having its Headquarters at London, Ontario, Canada.

The students and teachers participated in different activities of Time Project including Unite the Nations Game, Show and Share Video Conferencing on Clean Water Issue and Blogging.

On 12th April 2019,30- students of Grade VI, VII and VIII along with Mr P S Rajpurohit (Headmaster and Project Coprdinator), teachers Ms Neelam Matta, Ms Aditi Choudhary and Ms Poonam Sharma and Mr Mukesh Jangid (Technical support) participated in the following activities of Time Project:-

Unite The Nations Game- Twenty students of Grade VI, VII and VIII participated in Unite the Nations Game.The idea of the game was to share our country with others and learn about their countries in a fun, creative and playful way. IT is literally a test made by students for students sharing what they want others to learn about their own country.

Clean Water Issues Video Conferencing- Thirty five (35) students of Grade VI, VII and VIII connected with two schools in Croatia and one in Columbia on Show and Share Video Conferencing on the topic Clean Water Issue.The students connected with other countries to express and share their views on importance of clean water, ill effects of contaminated water and lack of basic sanitation in poor countries.

Blogging- The teachers and twenty (20) students enrolled themselves on the website of TIGed (Taking IT Global for Educators) comprising of 6,179 schools in 157 countries of the world. It empowers classrooms to understand and act collaboratively on the world's greatest challenges. Through this work, classrooms everywhere become actively engaged and connected in shaping a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable world.

6. 3-d show “Education with Entertainment”: A special 3-d show based on science was organized for the students on 20th April ’19. In this show 4 short animated stories based on science was showcased to generate interest among the students for the subject.

7. Outing for the students of Junior Section:The School planned outing for students of middle section on 21st April ’19 and junior section on 27.04.2019 from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM. 9. BPS got Talent: The event was exclusively for showcasing the talent of the new students. Students participated in the event enthusiastically and performed songs, dance and skit. The show was completely organized by the students in which they performed as per their house turn. They also shared their experiences in the school.

10. Fresher’s Welcome Party: New boys welcome programme was organized on 27th April, 2019, Saturday at 6:00 PM in junior section. All the new students introduced themselves. Two items from each house (group songs, group dance, mime etc.) were presented. At the end of the programme Headmaster welcomed the students and addressed the gathering.

11. Inter-house volleyball tournament: from 30th April ’19 inter-house volleyball tournament started. The first match of the tournament was played between DH and GH in which GH was the winner.

12. IC3 Regional Conference:-Three teachers Ms. Varsha Ratta, Mr. R.S. Shekhawat & Ms. Priyanka Tomar attended the IC3 regional conference at Sanskar School in Jaipur. More than 20 foreign universities attended the conference.

13. Basic Electronics Workshop :- A workshop was held in AV Room of Senior Section on 29th April and 01st May, 2019. The aim of workshop was to induce scientific attitude in students and make them inculcate electronic temperament in them. Around 25 students participated in the workshop from Class 12th. The workshop was organized by Physics Department.

7-Thar expedition’18: 43 boys along with 3 escort teachers started their journey for Thar on 21st December’18. The age group of boys is 13-14 years. 9-SGFI National Handball Tournament:- Twelve students of BPS and four students of YPS,Mohali along with two escorts, Mr. Sukhpal and Mr. Rajnikant are attending the SGFI Nationals from 30th December 2018 – 5th January 2019 at Shivpuri (MP)

10-Counselling Session:-A counselling session for commerce stream boys was organized by the school on 5th Dec. Mr. Rajendra Singh Bhati CMA and Mr. Harendra Pareek from CMA from The Institute of Cost & Management Accountant of India, addressed the boys. They were welcomed by Principal Capt. Alokesh Sen (IN) Rtd. and they informed the students about the institute which is the latest version of ICWA.

11-Workshop For 12th Class Commerce:-A workshop for 12th class commerce stream boys was organized by the school on 10th Dec 2018. Dr. Vikas Vijay (Famous Writer) was the resource person. 10- Dr. Amarjeet Singh General Science Trophy Test 2018-2019-

Birla Public School organized Dr. Amarjeet Singh General Science Trophy Test -2018 on 17/11/18 from 3:00 pm to 5: pm in senior section academic block. Six schools namely Birla Public School, Birla School Pilani, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth, Birla ShishuVihar, Bal Niketan Sr. Sec. School Pilani and CEERI Vidya Mandir participated in this exam. Total number of participants enrolled were 150 and 146 students appeared for the exam. Invigilation duties in this exam were performed by two teachers from each school. Evaluation work for this exam was done on 24/11/2018 by teachers from all the participating schools. BPS Pilani bagged the first prize in Dr. Amargeet Singh General Science Trophy 2018 (Sr.)

Head Master (Jr Sec) emphasized on the use of English language in the campus and divided the students into small groups to closely monitor the enhancement of conversational skills in English. The meeting ended with a happy note where the Head Master organized the outdoor activities.

16- Annual Day Celebration –

The 74th Annual Daywas celebrated on 30th of November 2018. 58 students participated in Band, Archery and Scout march past in Outdoor program. The Art, Science, Maths, Social-Science and Archive exhibitions were organized on this occasion.Students interacted with chief guest. The cultural program "Abidha"was organized in the evening where the students displayed their talents through the programs like English and Hindi skit, Mime, Songs and Dance.

Alumni day was celebrated on 1st of December. The students and old boys enjoyed Hockey on skates in Jr. Section, Volleyball and Cricket match in Senior section.The Band was displayed by the Junior students. The Alumni also presented a cultural program in the evening.

Motivational Lecture :-Dr. Sharad Sarin, professor XLRI and an alumnus of BPS gave a motivational lecture to the staff and students on 14 October 2018. He motivated the students to exploit their full potential and dream big.

IPSC Volleyball Tournament :-BPS teams (U-14 and U-16) finished runners-up in the IPSC Volleyball tournament held at Vallabh Ashram School, Valsad on 24th October 2018. Rohit Basera was adjudged the Best Player of the tournament and eight players have been selected for the Nationals.

Round Square Conferences :-Six students each from middle section attended Round Square Conferences at different places under different pillars.

Bharat Scout & Guide Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp – The Bharat Scout and Guide had organized a Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp from 23 to 26/10/18 at Dist. · The school football team participated in all the three category's under 14,17 and 19:U-14 team participated in Doon school football tournament, Dehradun, from 27th August to 1st September 2018. and secured 3rd position in prestigious Doon school juniors football tournament.,U-19 team participated in Mayo college football tournament from 3rd to 7th September 2018 and qualified for the quarter finals.

· U-17 football team participated in all India IPSC football tournaments which were held at Sanawar School, solan, HP. from 09/09/18 to 13/09/18. Total 22 teams participated in the tournament. Final match of tournament was played between Whelham boys and BPS, BPS won the tournament by 3-2. The Following students of BPS team were awarded the Man of the Match: 1.Ankit Kumar twice, 2. Annadurai visit

Birla Public School, Pilani, organized inauguration of Platinum Jubilee Year (2018-19) on 6th August 2018. Dr. M. Annadurai, Director, ISRO SATELLITE CENTRE, Bangalore was the Chief Guest on this occasion. He had an interaction with the students of BPS in which students asked vivid questions related to his research, rocket science and Indian space.

He presented himself as an example, and explained his journey in Indian space technology as a scientist.

At last, he released Science Magazine prepared by teachers and students of the school.

Inter Institutional Patriotic Song Competition

An Inter Institutional Patriotic Song Competition was organized on 14 August 2018. BPS bagged the first position.

Independence Day

The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm on 15th August,2018 at 7.45am in the Jr. Sec. Playground of the school. Honorable Principal, Capt (IN) Alokesh Sen was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

BPS MUN:-

BPS MUN was conducted from 17-08-2018 to 19-08-2018. There were six committees. Seven schools, BPS, BBVP, BIS,BSP, Emereld Heights Indore, Mody School lakshmangarh, and BRCM Bahal participated in it. First edition of the BPS MUN digest,” RECONARD” was released during the event. The Sec.Gen. for the event was Uttarksh Sharma (Head Boy) and the Deputy Sec.Gen. was Jitesh Lakra.

Inter School Sanskrit Shloka Competition 25-8-2018

Inter School Sanskrit Shloka Competition was conducted in the Vijay Hall of the school on 27th of August at 10.00am.17 schools participated in the competition. The first, second and third positions were bagged by Vidya Devi Jindal, Hisar, Dalmia School, Chirawa and Birla Public School, Pilani respectively.

Rakshabandhan

Rakshabandhan was celebrated on 26 August 2018. All the teachers and students attended the pooja and tied Rakhi to the students.

Doon School Football Tournament

16 boys of the section along with Mr. Siddharth Rai went to Dehradun to participate in the Doon School Football Tournament on 27th August,2018 at 2.00am. B.P.S. stood third in the tournament. Master Aditya Narayan scored a hat-trick in the tournament.

Inter House Science Quiz Middle Section was conducted in the Vijay Hall of the school on 27th August ,2018 at 3.35pm. It was won by Mahavir House.

Expert Lecture

63 students went to BBVP to attend an Expert Lecture at 3.30pm. The topic of the lecture was 'Remote Sensing and its Application'. Focus of lecture was on the application part of Remote sensing.

Montessori Day

Montessori Day was celebrated on 30 August 2018.Director B.E.T. Maj. Gen. S.S.Nair was the chief guest of the programme . The students presented various cultural programmes including Montessori speech, Hindi and English skit, Sanskrit song, Dance drama , dance, skating stunts , martial arts, band and Science , Maths and Art Exhibition.

All India GD Birla Platinum Jubilee Debates

The All India GD Birla Platinum Jubilee Debates was conducted from 30th August 2018 to 2nd September 2018.The event was based on modified Cambridge Format of Debates.14 teams participated in the event including the 2 teams of the host school. The opening ceremony was held on 31st august 2018 and the closing took place on 2nd August 2018. The host school bagged the trophy for the year 2018-19 and the Mann school, Delhi stood the runner-up for the year.

Activity Based Workshop for Classes VIII (Chemistry),IX and X(Biology)

Mrs. Babita Sharma took a Chemistry workshop for classes 8th A, B and C on 12th July’2018 in Vijay Hall. Activities like, Reaction of metals with water, Reaction of metals with air,Reaction of iron with copper sulphate, Double displacement reaction, Getting colour of pH paper in acidic basic and neutral medium like lemon juice, soap solution, milk and water were performed by the students which gave them a chance to perform the above stated experiments on their own.

Biology activities on the topic of Osmosis, Respiration and Photosynthesis were conducted in middle and senior section on 12th ,13th ,28th and 29th July 2018 by Mr. AnirudhaSingh Rathore and Mr. B.D.Sharma respectively.

Pahari Mandir Visit:-Pahari visit was organized for the students of Senior, middle and Junior sections on 12th ,14th and 17th July 2018.

Two students from senior section participated in Cryptic Crossword Contest City Round 2018 held in KV 2, Jaipur. Birla Public school managed third position in the contest.

World Peace Day:-Special assembly on the occasion of World Peace Day was prepared by Dayanand House on 12th July 2018. The boys opresented the life sketch of great leader Nelson Mandela through a presentation and skit.

World population Day:-The world population Day was celebrated on 13th July 2018 in Senior Section. Mr.K.K Acharya gave a presentation on theme “Family planning is Human right”. He also discussed the statistics for distribution of life span like sleep, working, recreation like TV watching etc.

January -2017

A video conference of class VII C with the students of USA on Asian and European elephants was held on 19 January 2017. Students discussed the characteristics of these elephants.

New Tabs of Extra marks were introduced to teachers and students on 23 January 2017. One class has been given tabs to test the newly added features like online test in class, sending remarks to the houses through tabs.

Meeting was attended by all the staff members on NABET, Conducted by the Principal and the respective in-charges on 28 January 2017.

The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in the Junior Section playground of the school on Thursday, 26th January,2017 at 9.30am.The tricolour was hoisted by the Principal Capt.(IN) Alokesh Sen.

The Martyrs Day was observed on Monday, 30th January, 2017 at 11.00am. All the students and staff members of the school observed two minutes silence on the occasion as a mark of respect.

All the students appeared for their English Olympiad Test on Tuesday, 31st January,2017 from 4.00 to 5.00pm in the Middle Section School building. International English Olympiad (IMO) held in Sr. section of BPS.

A Career counseling session for class XII was conducted in the Sr. Section on Tuesday, 31st January,2017 from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm

The school outsourced the services of the Institute Of Career Studies , Lucknow and conducted a personal counseling for the students of Class X from January 27th to January 31st ,2017 successfully. The Counselors were Mr. Kamalakar Dewedi and Mrs. Mitu Sinha.

Inter House Badminton tournament was held on 2nd December 2016. Vyas house won the Trophy.

Bhoor Singh Memorial Art Competition was organized in BPS on 3rd December 2016. All BET schools participated in the competition. Birla Public School stood third.

A Video conference was conducted on 8th December 2016 with the students of Budapest, on the topic ‘Celebration across the world’. 20 students from classes IV to VII participated in it and discussed the holidays and festivals celebrated in India.

Camelin Art Competition for Jr., Middle and Senior sections was held in the school on 10th, 12th, and 28th Dec.2016 respectively. More than 200 students participated in the competition.

A Cultural Evening was organized on 14 December for the students, before they proceeded to their homes for the winter vacation.

Sahodaya literature Competition was organized on 14th December 2016 in Jutharam School, Pilani. Birla Public School won the trophy.

A team of 7 students along with a teacher escort attended IPSC Literary Festival 2016 at Rajmata Krishna Kumari Girls Public School, Jodhpur from 17th to 19th December 2016. Kumar Vinayak of Birla Public school stood first in both ‘Toon Boom’ (Extempore on R K Laxman's Cartoon) and Ye Bhi Wo Bhi (Hindi Turn Coat). Gopal K Sharma stood fourth in Hansgulley (Comedy Poem). Overall 14 schools from all over the country participated in the Lit fest.

A Workshop on NABET was organized from 28th -30th December 2016 in the AV Room. Total 16 faculty members including the Principal attended it. The Annual Day of Birla Public School was celebrated on Friday,4th November,2016.The Chief Guest on the occasion was Hon’ble Mr.Justice Bharat Bhushan, sitting Judge of Allahabad High Court. The Indoor Programme consisted of a series of items based on the theme the “Panchbhootas” or the five elements of Nature. 25 students went to take part in Dr.Amarjeet Singh Science Trophy Test to Birla Balika Vidyapeeth on 12th November,2016.

Around 10 video conferences of class III to VII students were held in the month of November with the students of different countries, like Croatia, USA,Ukraine, Mexico, Hungry and more.

The Inter House Football Tournament for middle section was played from 13th November, 2016 to 18th November, 2016. Buddha House bagged the Football trophy for the session 2016-17.

Gurunanak Jayanti was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm in the school mess at 12.45pm on 14th November, 2016. The students recited the Gurbani in unison and then the Prasad was offered to Gurunanak Devji .

46 Students of Class VII, VIII and IX visited CEERI on 15th Nov’2016 for Science festival organized by VigyanBharti to spread awareness about inventions in Sciences and new technologies.

Hindi Recitation Competition for Junior Section was held on 17 November2016.

Under the umbrella of Social Awareness Campaign,75 students of Class IX A and IX B went to Morwa on 19th November,2016 .There they visited the Government School and also distributed note books and clothes to the students.

A workshop on the topic “Hindi-Dasha and Disha” based on the problem of Classroom teaching in Hindi was held on Saturday,19th November,2016 in the A.V.Room of Senior Section at 4.00pm.It was attended by all the Hindi teachers of BET schools.

7 boys of the section escorted by Mr.Umesh Prasad went to take part in Vigyan Manthan Competitive Examination (Level-I) conducted by NCERT to Kendriya Vidyalaya , Jhunjhunu on Sunday,20th November,2016.

English Debate Competition for Junior Section was held on 21 November 2016.

Two Video conferences, one with Odessa Gymnasium School, Ukraine and DL DAV Shalimar Bagh, Delhi on the topic “Peace and Reconciliation” and another with Sintemeesten College, Netherlands on the topic “Gender-based Discrimination”, were held this month on 15th Nov and 25th Nov, 2016 respectively. 30 boys from classes 7th to 9th participated in the conferences.

On 25th Nov 2016,Few students of class V participated in a local activity called Timeline under the UNESCO Time Project, where they discussed the role of their ancestors in time keeping devices.

The boys of Social service club went to visit all the three messes of the school on 26th November and spread awareness about hygiene and cleaning of surrounding.

18 students from Adventure Activity Team visited Govt. Primary School of Thirpali village on 26.11.2016.HM, had interacted with underprivileged children of the school.

The Inter House Science Quiz Competition (Middle section) for the Session 2016-17 was conducted in the Lotus Hall, on 28th November 2016.

Camlin Art Contest was held in Middle Section Art Room on Tuesday, 29th November, 2016 .The theme of the competition was “Dream Art Room”. The competition was open for students from Class VII to IX.

The Inter House Hindi Debate Competition (Senior Section) was held on29th November, 2016 at Lotus Hall. The first position was bagged by Gopal Krishan of Katyan House.

Around 50 students of Classes III, IV and V participated in Skype on 29 and 30 November2016. They took guest lecturers with five countries.

On 29th Nov.2016 basket ball final (senior section) was played.Kanad house won the trophy.

October - 2016

The staff members went to the Gandhi Statue in BITS to participate in the function held on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Director BET. Maj.Gen.S.S.Nair,AVSM, gave away books to the students who had delivered speeches on the occasion.

• 17 Students participated in All India IPSC Skating Championship held at L K Singhania , Gotan from 1st October to 3rd October 2016. Our students won three bronze medals.

• The students of Class VII A and B visited the ‘Vishwa Shanti Mela’ on 4th October 2016 which was organized by "Prajapita Brahmakumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya,Pilani.".

• 176 students of 9th standard along with 4 Science teachers visited CEERI to attend a workshop on the preparation of metallic devices and visited the Museum. • Parent Teacher meeting was held on 8th October 2016.

• Our school participated in Round Square International Conference at Stiftung, louisenlund from10 to 16 Oct.2016.The theme of the conference was "THE JOURNEY THAT MAKES US"

• Under the banner of Spic Macay ,the students were shown the programme of Shehnai Vadan by Pandit Dayashankarji in the Vijay Hall on 8th of October,2016 at 11.15a.m.

• Video conferences of classes III to VII were held between 10th October to 21st October 2016, with the students of different countries, like Australia, Canada, Russia, Turkey, Argentina, Ireland, Los Angeles etc.

• Panel discussion on GST was held on 14th Oct, 2016 in the auditorium of Birla Balika Vidyapeeth. There were four teams from each BET schools. Mr. S.K. Birla was the guest of the evening. The students had discussion on GST. Kumar Vinayak, Sarthak Agarwal, and Shreyash jaiswal were the participants from BPS .Mr. S.K.Birla appreciated the participants for their study on GST.

• On 15th October, 2016 RTI CUP COMPETITION was held at Birla Balika Vidyapeeth. Four students of class IX and six students of class X participated in the competition.

• IntraBITS-MUN2016-17 was held on 15 & 16th Oct, 2016 in BITS. The team of 42 students from our school participated & proved their potential. Master Kumar Vinayak bagged the Best Delegate Prize.

• Cyber Security Week was celebrated from Monday, 17th to Saturday, 22nd of October, 2016.In this week different activities were conducted.

• 15 boys from Middle Section went to L.K.Singhania Gotan on Wednesday, 19th October, 2016 to participate in the I.P.S.C.Band Competition.

• Mr.JohnMason, the Education Advisor came on a visit to the school on19th October, 2016. He visited classrooms in all the three sections, thereafter; he saw a short play enacted by the boys in the Vijay Hall.

• English Poetry Recitation Competition for Jr section was held on 20th October 2016.

• 15 boys of Middle Section escorted by Mr. Sukhpal went to Ratlam on, 20th October, 2016 to take part in I.P.S.C. Handball Tournament.

• Godhuli was celebrated on the occasion of Diwali on Saturday, 29th October, 2016 at 5.30pm.

• A smokeless and cracker less Diwali was celebrated by teachers and students in the school. Lantern making and house decoration competitions were held to entertain the children.

September - 2016

1. Handball Inter House Matches in senior section were held from 3rd to 10th sep.2016.Kanad House stood first.

2. Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm in the school on Monday, 5th Sept.2016. The students took up the job of running the school and the houses right from morning till the night prep.

3. On 6th September2016, 30 boys escorted by Mr. R.S. Shekhawat went to B.K.B.I.E.T. to listen to the religious discourse of Pandit Rajeshwaranandji at 5.30pm.

4. IPSC GK Test was conducted on Wednesday, 7th Sept.2016 in the zero period of the school.

5. Parent Teachers’ Meeting for Junior Section was held on 9th September 2016.Parents discussed the academic performance of their wards with the respective teachers.

6. PTM for Middle Section was conducted on10th Sept.2016 after recess. The parents met the concerned teachers and got themselves updated with the academic progress of their wards.

7. A CBSE Workshop on “Capacity building Programmme on Mathematics for class X was held on 10th and 11th Sep.2016. Total 54 teachers from 17 schools participated in the workshop. Mrs Ishita Mukherjee and Mr. Shahid Qureshi were the resource persons.

8. The students of Shishu Griha I and II were shifted to the newly constructed building on 13 September2016 after pooja.

9. Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great interest and enthusiasm in the school on Tuesday,13th September,2016.Two students of the school went to Birla School,Pilani to participate in Inter BET Hindi Poem Recitation Competition. Master Parth Raj of Class VIII bagged first position in the competition. The school also won the trophy for the competition.

10. A video conference for class III students, with the students of Canada on ‘Poetry Magic’. was held on 21 September 2016,

11. Five students participated in IPSC Yoga Competition, held at Mayo College, Ajmer. It was held from 21 to 23 September 2016. The students won the Best out of Best and overall trophy in Yoga.

12. On 15th September Global Collaboration Day (GCD) hosted a project named "Poetry Magic". They presented rhymes and poems to Grade 3 students of Canada and Russia through Video Conferencing. The feedback about the presentation was shared on Padlet.

13. On 25 September 2016 the students escorted by teachers moved to tours and treks to different places and in different groups.

14. Four boys of Middle Section left for S.R.N. International School, Jaipur on Monday,26th September to take part in CBSE Lawn Tennis Competition.

15. Seven boys of Middle Section went To L.K.Singhania,Gotan on Friday,30th September,2016 to participate in the I.P.S.C. Skating Championship.

The Founders Day of Middle Section was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm on Tuesday,9th August,2016 in the Vijay Hall of the school at 7.00pm.The Chief Guest on the occasion was none other than the Honourable Principal Capt.(IN) Alokesh Sen.

12th August,2016

The Inter Institutional Patriotic Song Competition was held in the Vijay Hall of the school on 12th August,2016 at 3.30pm. Five schools participated in the competition. The judges minutely listened to the songs and appreciated the patriotic fervour of the students singing the songs.The competition was won by Birla Public School.

13th August,2016

The Parent Teacher meeting for Middle Section was held on Saturday,13th August,2016 from 11.00am onwards. The parents met the teachers concerned of their wards and came to know about their child’s progress. Thereafter,they took lunch in the Middle Section mess and took local leave for their wards.

15th August,2016

The Independence Day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm on Monday,15th August,2016 at 7.45am.Honourable Principal Capt.IN Alokesh Sen hoisted the flag and took salute of the parade and gave good wishes on the occasion.

16th August,2016

The second formative tests were conducted from Tuesday,16th August to 19th August,2016 in which the students got to know their academic progress.

18th August,2016

Rakshabandhan was celebrated with great interest in the campus on Thursday,18th August,2016.The students who had their sisters in Birla Balika Vidyapeeth were taken to meet their sisters and spend time with them on the occasion. They were escorted by the Superintendents Mr.Rajbeer Singh and Mr.Rattipal Singh Shekhawat.

Janamashtami was celebrated with enthusiasm on Thursday,25th August,2016.The students worshipped Lord Krishna in their respective houses and remembered his teachings so that they could come up and improve in their life.

31st August,2016

The 12th All India Vidya Niketan Diamond Jubilee Memorial English Debate which read as “Spending billions of dollar on Space Mission is not justified for a welfare state like India when millions of people struggle for a square meal” was conducted at 8.00am on 31st August,2016 in the Lotus Hall of Birla Public School. Commander V.K.Banga (Retd.),Principal, Mann School, Delhi was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Director B.E.T. Maj. Gen.S.S.Nair, AVSM, Mr. Sanjay Srivastava, Principal, Birla School, Capt.(IN) Alokesh Sen, Principal, Birla Public School, Mr.Nikhil Rudra, Bursar, Birla Public School and Headmaster Middle Section,Mr. A.B.Sati also graced the occasion. 16 reputed schools across the country participated in the debate. The judges for the debate were Mrs. Devraj Mukherjee, Professor, English, Ramjas College,DelhiUniversity,Mr.Virendra Singh Nirban,Assistant Professor of Communication and Media Studies, BITS, Pilaniand Dr. Debolina Dey, A ssistant Professor, Ramjas College, Delhi University respectively.

The debaters exhibiting their oratorical skills reverberated the hall with their forceful and persuasive arguments for and against the motion. First position in the debate was bagged byOshin Sharma of Emarald Heights International, Indore. Close on their heels was Pravesh Agnihotri of Emarald Heights International, Indore who stood second. The third position was bagged by Kumar Vinayak of Birla Public School,Pilani. Fourth position was bagged by Meha Kaul of M.G.D. Jaipur. Fifth position was bagged by Raghav Vashistha of Rajkumar College Rajkot. The coveted trophy was lifted by Emarald Heights International, Indore.

The Chief Guest and the judges during their speeches highly appreciated the performance of the debaters. The Chief Guest gave away the prizes to the winners. The Chief Guest and the judges were honoured by the Honourable Director,B.E.T., Maj.Gen. S.S. Nair. The vote of thanks was proposed by the Event Manager Master Gaurav Paul. Paul.

July - 2016

1. Godhuli was conducted on Thursday, 7th of July, 2016 at 5.45pm on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.

2. The students of BPS went for the Pahari temple in the first and second week of July and had the holy darshan of Lord Hanuman.

3. Hindi Calligraphy Competition was conducted on 14thjuly, 2016.

4. Two lady Teaching Assistants from UK reached Birla Public School on 13 July 2016, they will stay in school for two months.

5. On 15th July, 2016 grade V interacted on Mystery Skype with students of Argentina.

6. On 15th July, 2016 ‘Quiz competition’ based on environment was held.

7. On 16th July, 2016 all the club members presented one programme each.

8. On 16th July, 2016 Hindi Dohas were recited by the students of Class VI.

9. Inter house Football matches in Junior Section were held from 18th July, 2016 to 25th July, 2016.

10. The Salters’ Chemistry Camp, India was organized at BITS, Pilani from 18th to 20th July 2016. 64 students from sixteen schools participated in this camp. The Camp was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of BITS.

11. The students of Class VII A and VII B (63students) visited Birla Museum and Gallery on Saturday, 23rd July, 2016.

12. The students of Middle Section were taken for a Magic Show at 4.30pm.

13. Two students of Class VIII, Master Utkarsh Mishra and Aditya Kumar, participated for (Aavishkar CBSE Online Quiz for Science and Tech.) on 26th July,2016 at 11.30 to 12.15 pm in the Middle Section, Computer Room. The theme for the month was “Atmosphere”. Two students out of 30 were selected to participate in the Quiz.

14. On 28th July 2016 class IV interacted on Mystery Skype with students of New Zealand.

15. The first Inter House English Recitation and Declamation for the session 2016-17 was conducted on Friday, 29th July, 2016 at 5.00pm in the Vijay Hall of the school. .

April - 2016

1. As a prelude to Earth day celebration the Hiking club of BPS under took the cycle expedition for a distance of 650 Kilometers from Pilani toDeshnok(Bikenar).The Expedition was flagged off of the Director BET Maj.GenS.S.Nair(AVSM).The duration of this expedition was of 10 days i.e. from 1st to 10th April 2016.The Expedition Team comprise of three teachers and 12 students. The motto of the expedition was to spread awareness on importance of “Water Harvesting”.

2. 8 students along with three teachers attended the “Theater workshop” conducted by the World famous Globe Theatre dedicated to propagation of Shakespere’s Theatre. It was a three daysworkshop from 12thApril to 14th April 2016 held at Birla VidyaNiketanPuspVihar New Delhi.

3. Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April 2016 by conducting various activities like skit in Assembly, Save Earth poster making,Rangoli making, Online Quiz etc.Students made paper bags and distributed in market in Pilani and explained people the hazards of plastic bags, the students were escorted by teachers.

4. The fourth B.E.T joint progressive conference was held in BPS on 20th April2016.It was attended by the all the BET Teachers of Pilani schools and few selected teachers of BIS.

5. Sunderkand Path was organized in BPS.

6. In order to inculcate the importance of labour day amongst the students and to show them the dignity of labor .BPS organized the special Lunch for all the class IV staff in the school. The best part of this event was that the students of class XII served the food to all of them.

7. Mrs.Jayanti Devi attended the workshop on CLDP organized by BITS Pilani Library Division. It was a two days workshop organized on 8th and 9th April,2016,where eminent LIS scholars from leading universities and organizations delivered their presentations on various important topics of Library Science.
