5 of our students participated in the 17th Royal Society of Chemistry – CRSI Symposium Series on 1 February, 2024. It is a 4 day symposium on ‘Sustainable Development Goal 9’ hosted by the Department of Chemistry, BITS, Pilani. The team of students from our school participated in the conference under the guidance of Dr. Roopa Mitra, Department of Chemistry, BPS, Pilani.
The symposium began with a welcome address by Prof. Sudhir Barai, Director, BITS, Pilani followed by Prof. Uday Maitra, President, CRSI. There were several valuable sessions conducted by famous dignitaries including Prof. Gill Reid, President, RSC, UK, Prof. David O Hagan, University of St. Andrews, UK and Dr. Ale Palermo, Head of Global Inclusions, UK.
The students also had a chance to visit the research labs in the Dept. of Chemistry, BITS, Pilani to get an insight about the ongoing projects funded by DST. They were benefitted by getting an exposure to the cutting edge research directions and interacting with national and international delegates.
